Republican of TV's "Real Housewives of Orange County" trainwreck starts blog
Edited on Thu Feb-08-07 02:24 AM by Bluebear
Funny thing, she sounds halfway literate here. Halfway. Thank heavens for network proofreaders. On the show's television promo, however, she vapidly announced "I am a Republican, because my dad was and my fiance is and they seem to know more than the other side...uh...what are they called, INCUMBENTS?"

"As you all witnessed last episode, I've been pondering what it means to be a Republican. I mean, when you really think about it, it all boils down to elephants and donkeys. Do you want to be referred to as an animal with great memory capacity or an ass? JUST JOKING!

Seriously though, my parents are Republicans raising me in a mainly Republican Idaho. I related the Republican party to strong family values and work ethics that I witnessed in my patriotic farming community. We believed in “The American Way” -- work hard and you will reap the rewards of your efforts. I could bore you with some facts such as Republicans tend to be more conservative fiscally, are more willing to go to war to keep the strength of our country, and that over the last 200 years have taken on many different images.

I’ve noticed recently how the two major parties-Republicans and Democrats seem not to be so opposite anymore and each having great ideas. Take for example, the great politically mis-matched couples like Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver, or James Carvel and Mary Maitlin. I, on the other hand, think that relationships are hard enough without having an oppositional partner---thus, the fact that George is an elephant was truly embraced and just one more reason he is a great match!

Attending these various political events has really given me great appreciation for the people that run our country and those interested in trying. I, not even for one second, would want the stress and pressure of that job. I’ve seen up close to what this type of tension can do to a person. Thank God there are people willing to sacrifice their lives to lend us their leadership to guide our county and protect our freedom."

My favorite blog response:

Yes, Lauri. Thank God there are people willing to sacrifice their lives to lend us their "leadership." Who exactly are you talking about? Or did you intend to honor the brave men and women of the United States Armed Forces, stuck and dying in Iraq due to a failed and mismanaged Iraq policy initiated by Republicans, but just did it in a clunky, clumsy manner?

I'm thoroughly confused.

Girls like you should really leave politics to the grown-ups. You never contemplated your political beliefs before because you never really gave a damn. But let's get real here... you're suddenly a devout Republican because George tells you to be. And George is a Republican because Republicans make sure he pays as little taxes as possible. End of story.

How many of your children are currently fighting in the war "to keep the strength of our country"? How many of George's children have volunteered to uphold the values you both hold so dear? It seriously makes me ill to hear people like you talk like that. Hypocrites, just like the politicians you and George support. Have fun at your next party. There are, at the time of this post, 3,100 young men and women who will never attend another party again, see their children grow, hug their mothers, all because of misguided Republican policies.

This has nothing to do with values, hard work, ethics and patriotism. You insult the working and middle class with that statement. Do you think Democrats don't work hard, don't have ethics, aren't patriotic? Do you realize George Bush's job performance is approved by about 30% of the nation at this moment?

Next blog, please just talk about make-up and dresses and handbags. Seriously. You're completely unqualified to talk about politics or what makes you a Republican.

If this nation and this world wasn't on fire because of people like you and George, I'd just blow it off. But this is about life and death.

And, just so you know, there are rich Democrats, too. You might want to look into that.

1. She's just a ditz -- and I admit, I love this show...
That tidbit annoyed the hell out of me, but not everyone knows their ass from their elbow when it comes to politics, ya know?

7. Agreed lol - what's the point in talking about what you clearly do not understand?
I wish she would tell me how she gets her hair like that! Seriously... All of them in fact...

3. I haven't watched that show....
and never will. It's nothing but MTV's, "The Real World", with middle aged, vapid, money grubbing bimbos in place of teen-aged, vapid, materialistic bimbos. Most of these women have never done an honest day's work in their lives. They marry well, sucker in rich, vain men who want the "trophy wife" and revel in their consumer based, , egotistic, "let them eat cake" insipid lives. How many plastic surgeries has this bimbo had? There isn't very much "real" about her. She's as fake as her political knowledge.
That TV shows like this are watched by millions and their "stars" idolized speaks volumes about our society. Truly sickening! :puke:

5. A t least 2 of the main 5 or 6 women have real jobs; e.g., realtor.
And at least one of the men is a low-life giant-pit-bull trainer.

The age differences seem not much at all (that is, the couples are well-matched), with one main "Sugar Daddy"; but even he is only about 15 years older than his off-on fiance (who is the one not wanting to marry, so there goes that stereotype).

But then, my comments come from actually watching the show.

8. Knock yourself out...
you can watch anything you want, anytime you want. It's America. But to suggest that these are, "The Real Housewives of Orange County", is somewhat disingenuous. It's another insipid "reality show" that I find so utterly brain numbing and one of the direst causes of the dumbing down of America.
Enjoy.

12. No one said it was the best show ever lol --
but claiming to know something about the characters when you clearly don't watch the show is flat out stupid.

16. Thanks...
Your characterization of my mental prowess as "stupid" takes unusual insight on your part as well. lol :eyes: Stupid? Yeah, OK. :eyes: I'm not the one wasting my time watching mind numbing crap like that.

11. Clearly you haven't watched the show...
Vicki owns her own insurance company and works very hard - her husband is currently unemployed as has been for months.

Jeana is a very successful realtor - her husband was a professional baseball player until he suffered a very damaging head injury in the 80s that has left him quite screwed up.

Lauri works for Vicki.

Jo started working again after she began to feel uncomfortable being dependent on her fiance/bf. She's now moving out of his house to LA to take an even better job.

Most of them work, and damn hard.

4. Ever since NBC brought Bravo....
the network has been turned into a huge pile of shit. Just when I thought the Bobby-Whitney show was as low as they could go, they top it off with this fucking vapid garbage.

"We believed in “The American Way” -- work hard and you will reap the rewards of your efforts."

Yeah, golddigging must be really back-breaking work.

"I could bore you with some facts such as Republicans tend to be more conservative fiscally, are more willing to go to war to keep the strength of our country, and that over the last 200 years have taken on many different images."

Something tells me the young men and women in her neighborhood are exactly rushing to the recruiting office. This woman is even more fake than her chest, if that was possible.

6. as she placed her oldest son
is a state school, for problem children. I'm sure it's tax supported and she nor her rich boyfriend have paid a dime for his education. You would think if she "cares" so much about family values she would find a private school that can do the same and PAY for his care. Stop using the taxpayers when it's in your best interest ,and be a true republican. Paid for it all.

Not that republicans pay for a damn thing..

9. Perfect.
I never thought of it that way but you are right. They have the money to take 15 people to Hawaii for the engagement party (except for the son) but no dough to pay for a private institution.

10. For the record, when she made that decision,
Edited on Thu Feb-08-07 03:47 PM by Katherine Brengle
she hadn't even met the fiance yet. The show sometimes moves in long time leaps.

At the time she was a single mom, raising a young daughter, a troubled teen, and her 21-yr old daughter had moved back into her house without warning or asking. It was a shite situation. From what I understand she also used to have a drug problem at one point and was in no way professionally or emotionally qualified to deal with her son's drug use.

Not that it should even matter since it's just yet another heavily edited reality tv show...

14. I'm just saying, people here are really quick to judge -- if a Democrat had done the same
thing, it would have been seen in a completely different light.

15. I don't see the attraction of this show. I even hate the commercials. Every single
one of these women are clueless, shallow twits raising clueless, shallow kids. They equate looks and money with everything. They honestly believe that people are jealous of them. I have never watched the shows but did visit the blog sites because I was amazed at the BS that was being used in the ads to push this pap.

I lasted about 20 minutes before I realized there were two camps who watch this junk - the people who actually think reality shows are reality and the ones who love to trash this trash. I decided to hit the close button and not clutter my "beautiful mind" with such tripe.

If just half of what is discussed on those boards is true these women need to lose custody of the children and then committed en masse to a mental facility - with adjoining rooms, of course, to continue their mutual admiration society.

And according to the boards - the rich guy that "Republican Chick" has hooked up with is being sued by former employees for sexual harassment, breaking an engagement, he is involved in a nasty custody battle with his ex of 20 years trying to get out of paying child support, having utilities shut off to "starve her out" of house, etc. In other words, typical family values Rethug.

We all know what the chick who claims she is a republican actually is - all that is left is the negotiating of the price.
