White House says Bush was treated for Lyme disease a year ago
The White House disclosed Wednesday that President Bush was treated for Lyme disease last summer. The revelation is in an annual report on Bush's health that declares him "fit for duty." It shows that he was treated last August for symptoms "consistent with early, localized Lyme disease" without any reoccurrence.

White House spokesman Scott Stanzel told CNN that it is "not uncommon" for Bush to get tick bites during his frequent bike rides. Lyme disease can be transmitted through the bite of a tick that carries the disease.

He said the president noticed he had a small rash in a "localized area" of his body last summer, and his doctors treated it.

"It's been resolved," Stanzel said. "He's had no reoccurrence and no other symptoms."

I wonder if he had any tequila to go with that lyme?

Perhaps the tick bit him in the ass, it could explain a lot. Ticks leave bulls eye rashes, I kind of like the idea of * having a bulls eye on his butt.

You never really get rid of lyme disease .... symptoms yes but the bug is with you forever.

He is in perfect health except for Lyme disease.

**************************************************

The disease varies widely in its presentation, which may include a rash and flu-like symptoms in its initial stage, followed by the possibility of musculoskeletal, arthritic, neurologic, psychiatric and cardiac manifestations. In most cases of Lyme disease, symptoms can be eliminated with antibiotics, especially if treatment is begun early in the course of illness.
A percentage of patients with Lyme disease have symptoms that last months to years after treatment with antibiotics. These symptoms can include muscle and joint pains, arthritis, stiff neck, cognitive defects, neurological complaints or fatigue. The cause of these continuing symptoms is not yet known. There is some evidence that they may result from an autoimmune type of response, in which a person’s immune system continues to respond even after the infection has been cleared, as well as evidence of ongoing infection with the spirochete.

2. There's A Vaccine for It, Why The Fuck Wouldn't He Have HAD The Vaccine?
Edited on Thu Aug-09-07 08:25 AM by Beetwasher
You'd think if he gets tick bites he would have had the vaccine so he would never even GET the disease. I got the vaccine so I don't have to worry about it.

There's some bullshit going on here.

4. Are you sure it wasn't 'lying disease'? I've seen symptoms of that.

If he was treated for lying disease the treatment failed.

5. There can be a secondary symptom of psychosis associated with Lyme Disease.
My sister's fiance had to take psychiatric meds for this due to his Lyme disease. He was a nutjob off his meds.
