A Proposal for a New Forum: Progressive Christians
I view this as being different than the Religion/Theology which is meant to discuss issues of faith.

The idea of the forum is to discuss the intersection of Faith and Progressive Politics. It would not be a place to dp the daily dump of news about miscreant Christians doing bad things. Or a place to start flame wars.

It would be a place do discuss how faith shapes our politics, our volunteerism and our activism. It would be about how we impact our circles of influence and how we reconcile the more pesky issues of absolutism and relativism our politics and faith. If we dare it is a place where we discuss how our faith drives our politics or our politics drives our faith,

I would never want the forum to become either an oasis away from the GD maelstrom and certainly not a "ghetto". But it occurs to me that people of faith have a different grid and a different vocabulary than either secular progressives or religious conservatives or even other religions and we need the opportunity and place to explore how we articulate our different path with out having to be constantly on the defensive "in here" or "out there".

Please be considerate and resist the impulse to flame this thread. It is not my intent to be whiny about GD or to suggest any sort of superiority.

PM me if you like.

4. Fortunately the target audience is pretty easily indentified.
I gues the key with any small formu is building community around content that males them want to visit and post.
