Just imagine being a Republican. When they go into the voting booth next year they will have the odious stench of a mens public bathroom and dirty diapers ingrained into their minds. Jesus.

They had better bring some Glade with them to vote.

3. dont agree with you
Its in my direct interest to vote GOP. Best for my employer. Best for my tax bill.
However its in the best interest of the future for my children and the future of the country to vote Dem.

10. When people talk about voting in their best interests
they typically are talking best interest in financial terms.

Its clear that I will have to pay a lot more taxes if the dems are in power.
But unlike the typical GOPer, I understand that paying taxes does in fact support our way of life.

13. Perhaps you don't understand finance
because I'm making a sacrifice in terms of retirement, lifestyle, creature comforts, etc to vote DEM.
Looking at the rest of my natural life is not short sighted.

15. Perhaps. Perhaps my experience modeling prepayment for our MBS traders...
... has been all for nought.

Perhaps.

19. Oh, good
then can you please predict exactly how to turn current net worth into future net worth 20 years out under GOP v Dem?

I'm guessing you can't.
Its difficult enough to do 2-5 years out without trying to do so 20 years out.

I know, that my employment security is much better under GOP than under Dem. So I can safely say that I'll be worse under Dem than under GOP.

12. Good thing gas and food prices aren't considered taxes.
As well as a 30% drop in the value of a dollar.

16. Then why do you say you'd personally do better with Bush?
The markets do better under Democratic administrations.

Are you happy with the 4% annual return under Bush (28.5% over 7 years)?

Does your tax cut offset that? Are you confident that Bush's policies ensure strong growth in the future?

I find it odd how you separated the best interests of yourself with that of your children. Most people I know think about them as one and the same. But most of the people I hang around with are liberals.

18. Because my employer does better under GOP
and has in fact been the happy recipient of all types of largesse under the current administration.

6. You''re right UNLESS the person you decide to vote for is actually
MORE against your interests than the Dem candidate! I will admit I have voted for the best of two candidates who I considered both less than ideal. NO CANDIDATE will ever please you on every issue. If there ever is one, it's YOU who has the problem.
