A former student senator faces banishment from campus and possible trespassing charges after committing an act of protest against the war during a recent visit by politicians.
Student activist Kaedden Timi pulled the string releasing an approximated 20-foot by 20-foot cloth, hand-painted banner in the back of the Polsky Theater on August 13 at a moderated discussion with Sen. Pat Roberts and U.S. Rep. Dennis Moore.
The words written on the banner accused Moore, Roberts and the entire Bush administration of crimes against humanity.
“I did it,” said Timi. “I pulled the string.”
Timi, who worked in the Carlsen Center about five years, said he chose to release the banner because he thought the congressman and senator were not addressing the issues.
