Hey, I'm a believer in being fair to all newcomers. That's why I defend when I do. But once the admins or mods judge their posts enough to deem then disruptors, then fuck em, no more sympathy from me!!!

Also pissed me off that he would only respond to those provoking, but didn't seem to have any intent on debating or discussing sincere questions posed to him that weren't provocative. Right near the time of his official TS I started leaning more towards your side of judgment.

one comment or statement does not a freeper make in my book but alot of people here will jump on one mistep or statement and blow it all out of proportion. In Ryan_H's case there were several comments and not one real defense of his position or a statement of why he was here or what he hoped to accomplish. His demand for an apology was also pretty hard to take seriously. If be was here for the right reasons, I hope he comes back and tries a different, more tactful approach. If he was a disruptor, good riddance but it is fun toying with them BT (before tombstoned).

His use of the cap locked DEMOCRATS UNDERGROUND, although I know you and I disagree on this point, did it for me.

9. I Hear Ya. I Guess The Reason I Defend Some Is Because There Are So Many Here Who Went Through

that sort of shit when they first joined, getting all jumped on and shit, but in the end actually turned out not only to not be disruptors, but in fact valuable contributors to this board. There are others very much still with us today who are quite valuable but will post about how hard it was for them when they first joined cause they were attacked as freepers. So since I know that has happened; where someone seems at first to be a troll but actually are just one of us getting off on the wrong foot, I feel the need to give them the benefit of the doubt and defend them against the accusations until such a time it is blatantly apparent that they are in fact trolls. I do that solely so that if they're in fact for real, they'll know that there were those here who stood up for their rights in a civil manner.

Problem is though, if I may be honest, that I'm 0 for fucking 3 now. This is the third one I gave the benefit of the doubt to in the spirit of fairness, and attempted to defend from outright attack, that within a few hours got banned anyway. So I'm thinkin maybe I should say fuck it, if they're for real let em prove their muster by defending themselves and if they're just trolls than good riddance. Cause it's a shitty feeling to defend someone only to find out they were in fact trolls. Like I said, 0 for fucking 3 LOL

13. I have been called a freeper

at least half a dozen times. It is frustrating and makes me angry but you always have to look at the circumstances and, more importantly, the reaction of the alleged freeper. I always looked at what I said and pointed to my history and then loudly voiced my DU credentials. I have some unpopular opinions and views and I feel reasonably secure in voicing them now but I wouldn't come here and immediately start attacking people or saying unpopular things. It may not be fair but it is the nature of this beast.

Don't stop defending people but look at the totality of the circumstances before you invest yourself emotionally into a newbie.

I defended Ryan_h and criticized the OP of the call out thread on him. I reported it to the mods because it was a clear violation of the rules.

I don't regret that and neither should you.
