So far 8 out of 49 of the deaths occurred in Al Anbar Province which has a population of 400,000 in a country with over 27 Million people.
Al Anbar Province has only about 1.5 % of Iraq's population yet 16% of American deaths have occurred there. That means (if my math is correct) American death rates in Al Anbar Province are 13 times higher than they are in the rest of Iraq based on percent of population.
I thought Al Anbar Province was supposed to be where things were going the best for us? If you look at the numbers is seems Bush is using fuzzy math with Al Anbar Province's success. An American's probability of dying in Al Anbar is 13 times higher than in the rest of the country.
