3. Yes, we know. Cheney will not give up his office until bombs are dropped
on Iran and Cheney gets his imagined parade of rose petals from the grateful Iranian people.

Cheney does not pay attention to anyone except Cheney.

5. I wouldn't ask for that
but a boycott sort of like we have with Cuba by the rest of the world, or like happened with South Africa might be helpful.

7. Sorry, I had a flashback when he was talking about Iran.
It was almost exactly what he said in that charmingly warm speech he made on the eve of the Shock and Awe first bombing of Iraq -if my memory serves me right. Same tone. Same words about how we respect the great history of the PEOPLE of Iran but that we feel that their government will not let them be FREE", etc.

I had a sickening flashback and freaked out.

10. Empire, pure and simple
Have we found ourselves in a time paradox back to the 1400's to the 1800's, where the pursuit of empire was all the rave?

I hear the same shit from co-workers that are Bush-bots. "WE HAVE TO GIVE FREEDOM TO EVERYONE!" - how's Iraq working out with that whole freedom thing?

Sad thing about it - with the rise of every empire there's always a fall.

11. Try to get them to define freedom and liberty
odds are, when they are done, if they even try, it becomes clear that we don't have freedom and liberty here...

how can we spread something we don't have? shouldn't we clean up our backyards before we deeming ourselves judge, jury and executioner for the rest of the world?

the conversation usually takes a different track then...

12. Amen to that! Bushbots cry
Freedom when they don't know it has been taken away from us. And they cry Freedom and send our men and women off to war if it doesn't affect them. Until those people understand that we will regress to the dark ages.

9. Was just watching and noticed that on CNN when a question
was asked about Alan Greenspans comments the screen flickered as if a splicing took place. The only one I noticed during the whole conference. Did anyone else see that?
