That's the date of the Iowa caucus. Feb 1 is New Hapshire and March 7 is Super Tuesday. Until those dates have passed, every DemocratIC candidate for president has a chance to win the nomination.

While I certainly give David Brooks and Brit Hume all the respect they deserve (none) for their learned observations about who the "serious" candidates are, fortunately, their votes count don't count any more than mine.

The candidates who are running are

Bill Richardson
Barack Obama
John Edwards
Mike Gravel
Dennis Kucinich
Hillary Clinton
Joe Biden
Chris Dodd

...as best I can recall. No one's name is typed in a larger font than the others.

Some of the candidates I like, others, not so much. Maybe we agree on who we like, maybe we do not.

Support you guy/gal. Give them money. Work the phones for them. Knock on doors. If you don't like someone, show where his/her positions are weak.

But what on earth do you accomplish by insulting the other guy/gal's supporters except turn others off to your guy/gal? People DO associate your candidate with YOU. So if you're being less than polite, it IS hurting your guy/gal.
