CHIP bill is no longer veto proof! 1 Day Left Until CHIP Expires!
From Families USA:

"By a strong bipartisan vote of 67-29, the Senate voted last night to renew the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and provide health care for 10 million low-income children. This followed a dramatic 265-159 vote in the House on Tuesday—which included a stunning 44 Representatives who switched their votes to support CHIP after previously voting against it!"

The Senate needs 67 votes to have enough support for Bush's threatened veto, which they have, barely. The House needs 290 votes to override, leaving us 25 votes short of what we need.

Contact your member of congress now, if you already have do it again.

Take action now!

9. It does not really expire yet
Both the house and the senate have aproved the continuing resolution needed to continue funding until the various appropriation bills are voted on, and I am 99% sure that covers CHIP as well. For the time being.
