Door Knob, Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change...
This post is dedicated to a lover I once had -- a devout Atheist -- who chose "Door Knob" as a Higher Power in AA meetings.

Door Knob,

Grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
Courage to change the things I can, and the
Wisdom to know the difference.

I'm struggling with whether it is wise to assume I can effect changes within the Democratic Party.

I am not a corporation; not a wealthy donor.
I have but one vote, and I am uncertain whether it will even be counted.
I have no access to the powers that be.

How do we marginalize those who want to marginalize us when we lack the power or opportunity to do so?

1. Actually, what you are trying to change is thought.
I don't believe it takes money or power to do that just effort.

2. If it were so simple, Cleita, as changing thought with just effort,

and power and money were not required, than positive change would happen much more rapidly.

Besides, the way I see it, it requires access to the upper echelons of our Party to change thought -- and that requires money and power.

But, I appreciate your optimism. I could use a huge dose of that these days. :hi:

3. Even if you choose a Door Knob as a Higher Power. . .
it'll help get you through a lot of jambs.
