Postal workers union wants answers on 2001 Anthrax attack

October 3, The Associated Press – (National) Postal workers union wants more answers on 2001 anthrax scare. The Greater Connecticut Area Local of the American Postal Workers, a union representing about 5,000 postal workers, is asking the state’s congressional delegation to press the Justice Department and FBI for updates regarding the investigation into the 2001 anthrax attacks that killed five people, including two postal workers, and sickened 17 others nationwide. The local union president said knowing more about the federal investigation would give postal workers a greater sense of security. He also said the union’s national leadership is renewing efforts to find out what the federal government knows about the attacks. 1. Well, we know who benefited from the anthrax scares. And it wasn't the
bottom 98% of American people. Gee, I wonder who cares about the top 2%.

Congress demands answers on anthrax investigation

WASHINGTON (AP) — Members of Congress want answers on an anthrax investigation, including a fatal attack in South Florida.

Thirty-three members of Congress have written Attorney General Alberto Gonzales demanding that the FBI update lawmakers on the investigation into the anthrax attacks five years ago. The case remains unsolved.

The FBI has refused to tell lawmakers what it has learned, citing concerns about possible leaks.

Senator Patrick Leahy, the panel's top Democrat and its next chairman, was one of the targets of the attacks in fall of 2001. He got an anthrax-filled letter sent to his office.

7. he did not send anthrax through the mail
He sent threatening letters that (I think) contained white powder and that was years after 2001. No, he is not the person or persons who sent real anthrax and killed innocent people.

14. Crystal Ball Cheney knew it wouldn't be smallpox or mustard gas.
Or any other chemical or biological agent that Cipro doesn't treat. No, Nostradamus told him on 9/11 that anthrax was on the way.

White House Mail Machine Has Anthrax

By Sandra Sobieraj
Associated Press Writer
Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001; 8:11 p.m. EDT

snip

At least some White House personnel were given Cipro six weeks ago. White House officials won't discuss who might be receiving the anthrax-treating antibiotic now.

On the night of the Sept. 11 attacks, the White House Medical Office dispensed Cipro to staff accompanying Vice President Dick Cheney as he was secreted off to the safety of Camp David, and told them it was "a precaution," according to one person directly involved.

At that time, nobody could guess the dimensions of the terrorists' plot.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-srv/aponline/20011023/aponline201158_000.htm

Nobody could guess? Gee whiz, how did Dick guess? Out of all the things "the terrorists" could hit us with, Dick innoculates his staff with a drug that happens to protect against anthrax? Some lucky guess, right?!

21. I think rogue elements within the government perpetrated the Anthrax Attacks
Want to know why? Because the FBI ordered a large portion of the spore cultures collected in the investigation destroyed. With the samples destroyed, we can no longer ascertain which laboratory the particular strain of Anthrax originated.

22. Oh, here postal workers, I'll tell you.
See, unlike say, the Unabomber, the killer in this case was compelled to do his deed for only a single critical month when the U.S. Patriot Act needed to be passed, when the payoff would be the largest for Donald Rumsfeld and the Bush Administration. Then the operation closed up like... an operation, rather than as if it were a criminally insane person compelled to kill.

The FBI allowed evidence to be destroyed that would have shown that the strain of anthrax was weaponized and could only have come from one or two facilities in the U.S., and not without authorization from the highest authorities... like Donald Rumsfeld, Dick Cheney, and George Bush. Once the evidence was gone, the FBI then tried to claim the anthrax was not weaponized, but that lie didn't stick.

Interestingly enough, before she laid out the false case for war in Iraq and had General Petraeus blocking for her while she led the U.S. Army chemical weapons search teams on a series of wild goose chases there, Judith Miller was writing about anthrax... a few weeks before the attacks. She pointed out that the DoD had recently returned to working with illegal strains which had been outlawed by international treaty. Then, she got a fake anthrax letter, not long after her book on anthrax came out.

The FBI has spent years trying to figure out how someone could load up those letters in conditions other than the safe, secure and quite easy to use facilities at Fort Detrick, and so far has come up with nothing, though they did find a few bikes at the bottom of a drained pond.

The only named "person of interest," Dr. Stephen Hatfill, fought back so hard and so virulently against the FBI when they tried to pin the crime on him that they have scarcely mentioned him since. But Dr. Hatfill's friend, Jerome Hauer, is a very interesting fellow. He very interestingly got former counterterrorist expert John O'Neill his new job at the top of the World Trade Center, just days before the 9/11 attacks in which O'Neill died. Then he very interestingly became an advisor to the Vice President, apparently on 9/11 itself (he was also a guest commentator on television that day), and immediately put the White House staff on Cipro days before the first anthrax letters were mailed, although we don't know the full extent of that story because the White House as evaded FOIA requests on the subject.

So there you go, postal workers. Everything is A-Okay out there. And don't worry too much if the anthrax comes back anyway, 'cause our pal Jerome Hauer is now making anthrax vaccine.

CAUGHT ON TAPE

An investigation was launched that exposed the shockingly lax security measures at the lab, and raised the possibility that some specimens may never have been entered in lab records. Also uncovered was a tape from a surveillance camera showing the entry of an unauthorized person into the lab, at 8:40, on January 23, 1992, let in by Dr. Marian Rippy, lab pathologist. The night visitor was Lt. Col. Philip Zack, a former employee who had left as a result of a dispute with the lab over his alleged harassment of Dr. Assaad. The Courant reports:

"Zack left Fort Detrick in December 1991, after a controversy over allegations of unprofessional behavior by Zack, Rippy, Brown and others who worked in the pathology division. They had formed a clique that was accused of harassing the Egyptian-born Assaad, who later sued the Army, claiming discrimination."

working a black op? One of those missing 3 Trillion dollars announced by Rummy on Sept 10, 2001?

all speculation of course... no tinfoil to speak of.

25. The Bushies will NEVER turn in their own assassins
Next you'll tell me Pat Tillman's murderer, fresh from his meteroic and impossibly fast last two promotions, is going to come forward and confess.

Just who do you think we are dealing with. I strongly suspect the Bushies would murder thousands before giving up the guy who could finger them and who performed the anthrax hits.
