Oh the humiliation of belonging to a party without a spine...
I swear to God, if the Republicans weren't so effing awful I'd have a hard time sticking with the Dems. I really believe its come to the lesser of two evils. One thing I can say for the Republicans is at least they stick together, stay on message, and HAVE AN EFFING SPINE... The Dems are all over the map, lack a unified message, and have a spine the consistancy of red licorice.

4. pre-chewed, at that.
black licorice is slightly stronger, so the leadership avoids that at all costs.

8. Every time Pelosi/Reid come out publically grovelling to the GOP
They really have no clue that there is not one person on either the left or right who has not lowered their respect for Democratic politicians.

But that fact will not stop either of them from making sure their party grovels the next time they are demanded to do so by the GOPers.

10. Not only that
It's not only that they, the leadership have no spine, it is the fact they insist that NO ONE in the party be allowed to demonstrate they have a spine. If you do show a spine, you are castigated, humiliated and forced to apologize.

Capitulosi is the reason I can no longer identify myself as a democrat. They are just too weak.

13. Nothing is more un-American than not standing up for your beliefs
Someday the Democrats will realize that, and they'll rake in votes from most of the authoritarian sheeple who've been supporting Rethugs all these years.

14. Many Americans don't have the fortitude of their convictions...they lack them.
Edited on Tue Oct-23-07 05:15 PM by Selatius
That's why they bill themselves as "moderates." If they held the convictions that would cause a person to defend the Constitution, for instance, they wouldn't be voting for the Patriot Act or the Military Commissions Act. Hell, they would come across as extremely aggravated or impassioned whenever battling it out on the House or Senate floor, to the point of being ridiculed as loving the terrorists. There's nothing wrong with being a moderate, since a moderate is infinitely better than an ultra-right wing extremist any day of the week, but simply put, when it comes time to defend the Constitution, sometimes they don't show up to the fight at all.

16. Just because Freepers lie and are often wrong doesnt mean a damn thing.
I've heard that kind of incorrect logic before.

For example-just because Freepers lie and say "the media is biased and help Liberals" doesnt mean that Liberals dont have a point when they make the charge that the media is in fact biased AGAINST Liberals.

"Both sides are saying it, so it must be that both sides are wrong" isnt the case here.

The fact is one side is incorrect and one is not-or-maybe closer to the truth, the poor shmoes on both sides are getting what they paid for instead of what they thought they were paying for- chickens roosting and all of that.

17. I'm saying people here perceive dems as weak and pukes as
strong. People there perceive the opposite. I find that interesting. And neither is entirely true.

19. What idiot & lying freepers perceive and what informed DEMS percieve are 2 different things.
If freeps cant see that Bush has accomplised 90% of his actual goals and that DEMS have failed to stop him, then they are idiots.

If I were to give you the benefit of the doubt, I'd say that maybe some realize in the backs of their minds that Bush's actual goals and the goals he lied about are two different things.

18. I don't really care how it 'appears' or how it reflects upon me- I AM
bothered by the way this administration, and it's 'party'- seems to reduce people to tears and self-destructive actions, when they step out of the 'line' which only applies to 'us'-

It isn't the "spine" that is lacking- there is something far too influential at work here.

And I for one, would really like to see it exposed.
