Take a breather, it looks like the Southeast is getting a good rain
Looking at my radar I see huge rain storms in Western Georgia and moving East all up and down the south. At least something good is happening, is the drought easing or is it going to take much more?

5. Watching the radar
I'm looking forward to my soccer game being stormed out. :woohoo:

Normally, soccer is played in any and all conditions, but they don't like us rec leaguers tearing up the wet fields.

7. Tri-Cities area of TN has gotten no rain yet,
only a few sprinkles yesterday. Our annual rainfall deficit is now 17+ inches.

10. While every little bit helps, this probably won't do much for most areas
Much of the worst drought areas need 10-20" of precipitation. So in short, it's going to take much more.

In North Carolina, this rain, when (if) it comes, will probably do little or nothing for the drought, as they are only expecting us to get about an inch at most.

13. Very strong (55 dBZ) cell approaching Lake Lanier (34.5N 84.1W at 5:55pm EDT).
Edited on Tue Oct-23-07 04:55 PM by DemoTex
Looks like it will hit the lake just above Buford dam shortly .. a bullseye. And is moving fairly slowly which means longer time over the lake. Lots of rain north of Lake Lanier, too, over the catchment areas.
