Left leaning MSNBC talking to Rosie O'Donnell
Evidently they are catching on to the fact that 80% of us out here are damn sick of Bushco (Olbermann ratings), and they have decided now to start "leaning left". So they are talking to Rosie O'Donnell about a primetime show.

1. Bad Idea .... That is not "the face" we need.
Rachel Maddow would be much better .... So would Stephanie Miller.

Rosie is awful .... bottom line.

6. What's wrong with Phil's face?
His ratings were actually very respectable until MSNBC went all Faux on us after 9-11.

8. Rachel Is Doing Fine With What's She's Doing
I wouldn't mind seeing Rosie bash Repugnican for an hour. I'm very proud of how well Rachel's matured on the flat screen. I remember how awkward her first appearances were and now she's become a very visible and elequoent spokesperson in a world of spinners and egotists. I enjoy seeing her on all the MSNBC shows rather than focused on just one. It's great when they bring up a Pitchfork Buchannan that she's standing by ready to stomp on him.

12. I don't mind Rosie, and she is fairly popular
but I like Rachel a lot more and feel she would be a better choice.

2. Since when is MSNBC "left-leaning"?
They've got one guy (Keith O) who's a liberal.

10. exactly
GE - the owners of the NBC family - are not exactly liberal or progressive or left-leaning unless that's the direction which fills their wallets. I suppose compared to FOX and Disney and their other competitors they could be seen as "left leaning" but it's hardly a valid description.

Ad boycott against Air America Radio

General Electric refused to advertise on the progressive Air America Radio. In October 2006, around 90 companies, including General Electric, told ABC Radio Networks that they did not want their ads to play on any radio station that carried Air America Radio. <2> <3> <4>

Political contributions

General Electric's political action committee (PAC) gave $1,281,400 to federal candidates in the 05/06 election cycle - 37% to Democrats and 63% to Republicans.

Lobbying

GE spent $19,420,000 for lobbying in 2006. $4,050,000 of this total went to 39 outside lobbying firms including Ernst & Young, BKSH & Associates, Quinn Gillespie & Associates, and Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld. <6>

3. Oh God...
billo will be apopleptic, or smarmily self-congratulatory....of course that will be after he has some private time to fantasize about how much he can spin that nugget of news! Nothing against Rosie, but why don't they give the slot to Randy Rhodes or better yet put the Young Turks on TV!

11. Yes. I love Rosie and agree with a lot of what she professes to believe, politically...
...but she's a lightning rod. Wing nuts in the media can't use Phil Donahue to whip up anti-progressive sentiment as well as they can--and do--use Rosie. I don't say that she should shut up, by any means, but we need serious mainstream "branding," right now.

Unfortunately, MSNBC is, no doubt, thinking only about ratings. And Rosie'll give them ratings, whether or not having her in the spotlight would hurt the liberal cause in the long run.

14. Rachel, Rachel, Rachel!
The smartest and most beautiful woman on cable. Rosie is a television personality; Rachel is a scholar.

15. I do like Rachel
Smart, attractive, and unshakeable in an interview.

How about the Maddow/Donohue Report? :)
