ENDA passes the House:Frank receives resounding applause
Think Progress

The House passed the Employment Non-Discrimination Act (ENDA) passed this evening with a 235-184 vote. Rep. Barney Frank (D-MA), on the verge of tears, one of two openly gay members of the House, delivered an emotional speech denouncing the efforts of conservatives who attempted to sabotage the bill with parliamentary maneuvers. Frank received resounding applause. Watch it:

1. Thanks for posting.
I feel very emotional. I never thought I would live to see this pass the U.S. House of Representatives.

2. It's about time.
Why not protect gays? What the hell is the big deal? I don't get it. But then, I'm Canadian...and decidedly not willing to accept that someone like Pat Robertson or the Phelps bunch are better at living or logic.

6. It's not unfortunate.
It's a "travesty" of justice. (pun intended)

Thanks to Rep. Baldwin for trying.

Pardon me if I don't stand and applaud Rep. Frank.

8. Thank you Rep Frank
For throwing the T folks under the bus.

Thanks HRC Joe Solmonese for lying to the attendees at Southern Comfort saying that HRC would only support a trans inclusive act.

9. How will Larry Craig vote when it reaches the Senate
I hope the other Larry is waiting to release the name of another Senator who makes the mistake to vote against this bill.
