Standing within the world.
One thing has bothered me for years now, the world perception of America and its citizens allowing this poisoning of a nation to occur.

In the simplest of terms, I think we regain just a little credibility within the world simply by standing up and saying "these things have been WRONG, we do not support them."

So, screw the republican games, we owe a debt to Kucinich for standing up and re-affirming what America is supposed to represent.

He also gives us a chance to look in the mirror again and feel more than shame. We can reject the happenings at Abu Ghraib, we can name torture to be what it is and we can do such minor things as joining the Kyoto accord, preserving ANWR, and making genuine efforts to pursue alternative energy sources.

If that plays into republican hands by putting those issues at the forefront, America is already lost anyway.
