Poll question: my response to the writer's strike will be:
(disclaimer: I both support the writers on the picket line and occasionally watch TV)

3. Other ...
A great opportunity to catch up on all of those shows you've taped over the years, carefully labeled, put on the shelf and said, "Hey, someday I'll have time to sit down and watch this."

I'm not saying that I, myself, have ever done such a thing - but I think I have a few Hill Street Blues and St. Elsewhere episodes somewhere that I haven't gotten around to yet ...

If you run out, I think I have large parts of Live Aid and a few Duran Duran videos on tape at my parents' house. :D

11. Just RUB IT IN, you bastard.
According to the latest fiduciary breakdown, it won't be until next summer that I can afford an HD player and Transformers on HD. It was supposed to be last month, but life didn't work out that way...

Until then I've assembled a reading list and have played a LOT of frisbee with my kid. Yeah, the "family" thing and the "reading" are okay, but I'd prefer a little HD-TV. Just a little. I'd still play frisbee before school, I swear...

(Note the lack of a sarcasm tag :))

18. I'd be on the look just before Christmas, my friend.
Unless you have a preferance (HD-DVD or Blu-Ray), I'd say there's a good chance you can snag an HD-DVD Player at an affordable price. Best Buy sold a Toshiba model for $98 bucks last Friday (normally in the $300+ price range). It came with the HDMI cord and a send-in offer for 5 free HD movies. It's hundred bucks, sure. But considering just how expensive these players were. It's a steal.

7. None of the above.
I don't watch much tv, so even reruns will be "new" to me if I sit down in front of the tube on any given night.

12. The shows I watch are already in the can.
South Park, Robot Chicken, Journeyman, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Dexter are already done. And you don't need writers for the NFL or NHL. All I'm going to miss are TDS and Colbert.

22. How 'bout catching up on the re-runs of the shows I haven't been able to watch?
I don't always get to see them the first time around, so the re-runs are new to me.
