On the "naturalselector89" Finland school shooter and youtube.

Youtube has many many people who seem to worship the columbine killers. Youtube does nothing about them and allows some of the most vile posts. Here are some of the users on youtube who seem very dangerous.

http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=RobinMcVeigh ) a teenage girl who seems to worship Timothy McVeigh and considers him a freedom fighter

http://www.youtube.com/user/freurfrie This guy is in the UK calls himself John Doe and has nothing but videos of columbine killers and Mcveigh

http://www.youtube.com/user/RebisaGod Reb is god is a reference to one of the Columbine killers whose nickname was "Reb"

http://www.youtube.com/user/ginobili210 A guy whose webpage background is columbine

http://www.youtube.com/user/Viequense7 A guy with several tributes to "reb" the columbine killer

http://www.youtube.com/user/XREBdomineX Another Reb worshipper

http://www.youtube.com/user/littleton1999 This guy is actually named littleton

I found all these profiles in just minutes. Youtube is flooded with socialpaths, and Youtube allows death threats and many vile videos. This Finland massacre was not an isolated case, there are many of them.

I guess this is personal to me, because I had an online discussion with the shooter about 5 months ago. I told him what he was doing was dangerous. I told him to stop it. He insulted me and blocked me from his youtube channel. I did not report him because at the time he had no death threats and only tributes to school shooters like several other youtube users do. I'm a believer in free speech, and I believe people should be allowed to make tributes to school shooters. But these guys are sick and twisted and need help. What is the proper thing to do? Can the government step in here. Should it? Why has the media basically ignored youtube's role in this massacre? This is all just horrible.

1. Youtube is one of the most vile places on the web
The amount of racist neo-Nazi crap that goes on over there is alarming. But on the other hand, how are they going to moderate such a forum? I don't know if there's any way they could bring it under control.

2. Youtube is a video website.

It's not the police.
It's not your parents.
It's not the FBI.
It's not the school.
It's not a psychologist.
It's not your doctor.
It's not a gun shop.

Edited to add: Youtube allows you to report videos. It's a link. Got a problem with a video? Click the link.

Simple.

3. I'm surprised YouTube allows this.
These guys want attention and YouTube is providing them
with a worldwide audience.

 Why?

Also, why wasn't this story on the evening news programs?

Why does a school shooting in the U.S. warrant airtime, but not one
in Finland?

4. you're right this needs more media attention.
Not just for the school shooting itself, but youtube needs media attention itself. I think there are hundreds of these guys who post these tribute videos to school shooters on there. Natural Selector was a well known user and considered the "leader" of the columbine bunch on youtube and had his account for 5 months before they banned him. Then he just made another account and it stayed unbanned until the day of the shooting.

5. Why stop with youtube? We'd better censor the internet. Maybe outlaw it altogether!

7. I don't believe in censorship.
As I said, I believe tribute videos should be allowed. But youtube is a private company. Why do they allow people to post that garbage there? What I mean by the government stepping in is, should the government be finding out who these people are who keep posting this crap? There are hundreds of them on youtube, and many of them appear to be dangerous. Im not saying the government should force youtube to delete certain videos as I am a big believer in the first amendment. I don't know what to think about this. Its all a shock to me that some guy I knew on youtube who just killed 8 people.
