NEW YORK -- A Boston priest has been arrested on charges of stalking late-night talk show host Conan O'Brien by writing him threatening notes on parish letterhead, contacting his parents and showing up at his studio, prosecutors said Wednesday.

"I want a public confession before I ever consider giving you absolution -- or a spot on your couch," wrote David Ajemian, who signed the notes "Padre," said Barbara Thompson, a spokeswoman for the Manhattan district attorney's office.

Ajemian was arrested last week while trying to enter a taping session of NBC's "Late Night with Conan O'Brien" at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, near where other NBC shows are taped and the famous Christmas tree is put up, Thompson said.

Court papers say Ajemian referred to himself as "your priest stalker" in one note and complained of not being allowed in to see an earlier taping of the O'Brien show.

"Is this the way you treat your most dangerous fans?" the note said.

1. Obviously, the priest has a sense of humor....
And the O'Brien people do not.

4. With the way people are lately...
There's no way to take chances. Even if the guy meant to be funny and there was no harm intended he does sound like a nutcase.

5. The humor escapes me too.
More than a year of it, and he persists even when asked to stop? Not too funny, in my book.

6. I agree - not funny at all.
Especially if the guy is involving Conan's family. Not cool.

12. He's About As Funny as a Kidney Stone
Maybe you just have to be a Catholic school refugee to understand.

The guy was crossing all kinds of boundaries, after being asked to stop. That's not funny, that's sociopathic.

He should just laugh off some guy who is stalking him?

What an odd response.

7. And he was following...CONAN O'BRIEN the dishrag?
The sleepy, low-budget cousin of David Letterman? The guy who tries to sound witty and ironic but who comes off like Dick Cavett after he's taken too much anti-depression medication?

Stalk Letterman (he's used to it). Stalk Masi Oka, America Ferrara, William Shatner. DON'T stalk Conan O'Brien! Next thing you know, we'll hear of someone stalking Michael Jackson who claims to actually like his boring-ass music!

THIS is why America is sinking into the sea. Not even our stalkers can identify what's good and what's bad.

14. ALL priests need to get laid!
Publicly. I mean...for them to be allowed to have sexual relations of some kind. Not that I want to watch or anything. But this sexual denial of theirs has made Catholic priests squirrelly and untrustworthy, which is why I became a "collapsed Catholic" decades ago.

And then...maybe if the priests can get laid...maybe someday there might be hope for the rest of us.

the writers at The Onion have been able to keep outdoing themselves. This isn't on their web site, though--I guess they've started syndicating their work.

20. A public confession or a place on your couch...'
He signs his notes as "Padre",calls himself "your priest stalker" and asked "Is this the way you treat your most dangerous fans"? Come on; LIGHTEN UP ALREADY! The guy was misguided, but he sounded far from serious.

21. He already believes in an invisible man in the sky who doesn't want him to have sex.
How much of a leap is it from that to stalking Conan O'Brien?
