Redford's "Lions" film. My take.
Excellent.

The objective was merely to incite the viewers to THINK.

Those of us who aren't operating in the flow of propaganda will feel the range of emotions natural to knowledgeable folks: anger and sadness, validation and concern, hope and despair.

I'll keep it in my library of this history you and I are living,...and making,...whether by action or inaction.

2. I had a feeling that those NPR shitbird know-it-alls got it wrong again.
They dismissed the film out of hand. Thanks for the input.

4. It's a challenging movie because,...YOU ARE THE ENDING.
Strictly "entertainment" types always loathe films without an ending.

What makes this film truly valuable is,...it leaves the viewer to decide the ending.

We, as a society, REALLY NEED TO BE CHALLENGED, in such a way. It's uncomfortable, being forced to think and to choose where we stand on our own lives.

It is about time to face that discomfort IF IF IF we are more than merely our words.

OMG!!! I have to tell you that Cruise did a effinfabulous job as the GOP power-through-war nut.

5. NPR has Been Dissappointing
I've noticed a change during the Bush years. Didn't they privatize in the late 90's?

10. Yeah... I realize That
and it disappoints me. Concerned citizens deserve REAL information so they can better inform each other on what to do with and for their government. It's pinnacle to our Democracy and it just drives me nuts as to how difficult it is to get to the truth.

9. republicon homelanders packed the NPR board

and then trashed the content, forcing it to mutate to republicon homelander PROPAGANDA

NPR has become a subtle PROPAGANDA catapult for the homelanders.

A shame. It once had honor and served America. But there is No Honor in anti-American Homelandism.

That's for sure.

8. I just saw it too. It was a very good film that literally flew by in no time but I want to
give it a Big But. For most DUers, this will be nothing new. You will not learn anything from it but become exceptionally frustrated because this has been your own dialog/my dialog for years. The exciting thing about Lions is that it will reach a broad audience and wake more people up.

The acting was Excellent. Tom Cruise (no matter how one feels about him personally) continues to be a wonderful actor and he is perfect in his role as a youngish war mongering Senator. Meryl Streep is brilliant as a veteran reporter. Robert Redford nails his role as well as a Political Science Professor.

13. only made 6 mil at the box office opening weekend :(
With hopes word of mouth will give it a good kick this week, sure sounds like a movie that should be required viewing. Our local freeper movie reviewer didn't like it, but freepers don't like to think.

14. We were in a mixed audience. The response was stunningly quiet.
I think that is a perfect response.

Me. I was tearful because the experience was bitter-sweet.
