I received a really racist anti-immigration cartoon in my email....
Now, I'm trying to find a PRO-immigration cartoon. I've already searched through Google images, and came up with one mildly pro-immigrant cartoon. Can anybody help me here? Where can I look for a cartoon like this?

1. Is it anti immigration
or anti illegal immigration?

Why is the US the only country on earth not allowed to have secure borders?

We should demand an illegal immigration policy based on Mexico's very own illegal immigration policy.

8. You're jumping to a lot of conclusions, rant boy.
Secure borders? Secure from what, brown skin?

Do you even know what the legal paths to immigration are?

There are only three. I'll give you some hints:

1).- Nepotism
2).- Endentured Servitude
3).- Prostitution

17. What if you marry an American citizen?
Is that covered in your number 2 or number 3?

19. That's number three
You'd be surprised how many of these marriages end in divorce as soon as citizenship is obtained.

Number 2 is the H1B visa program.

she used prostitution as a means of immigrating to the US. But thanks for your insightful comments. :eyes:

26. I'm glad she married you for love, but that's not my point
Edited on Mon Nov-12-07 11:04 AM by Xipe Totec
The question is not what is a person willing to do for love? (leave a homeland to follow the heart).

The question is what can a person do if they want to legally immigrate to the US.

25. My grandparents came here illegally from Canada....
It was no big deal and nobody seemed to mind. As a matter of fact, my father was one of 20 of their children! If it hadn't been for my grandparents, I'd be freezing my ass off in Quebec. I just can't imagine not being a U.S. citizen. It's one of the things that I'm proudest of, and illegal immigrants made that possible.

29. I know. There's a lot of illegal Irish immigrants in Boston
People who came here on tourists visas, student visas, or temporary work visas, and overstayed.

Nobody gives them a hard time.

On the contrary, everybody welcomes them.

I say welcome, and good for them too.

but if you even suggest that things should be done legally regarding immigration here the "racist" comments are never far behind.

15. Oh, you want mordida!
When I was living in Mexico, I knew a few Americans who had, shall we say, overstayed their vacation. Not a problem as long as you were white and cleaned up. But if you look like a piss-poor Guatemalan or Salvadoran looking for work, they'll roll you for what money you do have before they deport you.

The real reason the US doesn't have secure borders is because Republican business owners like it that way -- lowers their overhead.

Edited on Mon Nov-12-07 10:58 AM by iamthebandfanman
you cant stop people from seeking a better life....

if u want to solve the problem, why dont u punish all those 'legal' americans who give them jobs and a reason to cross the border in the first place.
but nobody likes a silly idea like that on the rethug side...

yeah, throw up that wall and waste millions of dollars on border patrol ... itll get ya nowhere cept further in debt and spending more and more money every year.

leave it to republicans to come up with ideas that COST taxpayers ALOT ALOT ALOT of money in the long run.
war on drugs anyone?

32. "...the only country on earth not allowed to have secure borders."
is a lie.

This is happening all over the world. China gets illegal immigrants from central asia and N Korea. Russia gets illegal immigrants from central asia and former soviet republics. Wester Europe gets illegal immigrants from the Middle East and Africa.

Humans are a migratory species, and borders are artificial constructs that never have, and never will stop migration like those which are happening worldwide. People will leave poverty-stricken third-world countries to go where the jobs and money are.

Most industrial countries have problems with this - but the US has, embedded in its legal codes, racist immigration restrictions which should be an anathema to a modern democracy. The rate of illegal immigration is due solely to the incredible restrictions on legal immigration. But the corporations love it; it creates an easily exploited underclass which has no rights - IOW, the perfect worker.

Why are there so many here? Because our economy has been stong enough to absorb them. And they will keep coming until the jobs dry up. And with the boomers moving into retirement, that will not be any time soon.

My advice?

Learn Spanish.

Then attack their message. ;) Include a few sentences in Spanish too. :D

30. Cognitive dissonance: George W. Bush is the biggest supporter of illegal immigration around.
It is convenient to paint this as a "right vs. left" issue, but it is really an elite vs. working people issue.

This is why Hillary Clinton and George W. Bush, for example, are in almost total agreement on illegal immigration.

14. It was more of a "joke" than a cartoon. Anyway, it went like this;
A tourist went to NYC, got lost and started asking for directions. He came upon a Mexican and asked him where Tiffany's was.. The Mexican didn't know, but he turned to his friend, an Arab, and asked him. The Arab said I'm new to this country, too. I don't know". Then the tourist asked an African; the African said "I, too, am new to this country. I am sorry, but I don't know where Tiffany's is". So the tourist says "Are there any white people around here? The Mexican looks at his watch and says"They're probably all at work".
So I guess it's a two-fer; anti-immigration and racist.

Luckily I don't know the sender of that offensive email very well, so I wrote back and told her not to send me anymore racist ones. Now that I have a cartoon, I can send it to her and block her emails! (Yes, there is a little evil in me).
