Any News on the HEMP Hearing set for today?
Trying to locate the post from the other day, not having much luck, I thought I bookmarked it, but don't have it afterall.
Someone from DU posted this and was going to cover it for us.
It concerns the farmers from North Dakota who are seeking approval from a Fed Judge, today, and I think it is held in Bismarck, ND. They are making their case for growing industrial hemp.

Appreciate any info from DUers who may recall this.
Thanks

4. thanks
after googling to see if there was any information, I came across this site... not at all about hemp, tho.

Mj prices may fall because of overproduction!

The overproduction comes from the move to less and less outdoor growing, with better hybridization via three generations of breeding/harvesting per year, rather than an outdoor cycle.

War against mj is a total waste of money and lives

Meth is dangerous. Pot is not.

Hemp should be allowed to grow whereever it will. Hemp products could spur an entire economic revival, ala the dotcoms, only with a green pov. All the things that could be manufactured with hemp instead of oil, and made right here, close to where crops are harvested.

5. Yes, that's the one. DUer HighPlains should be checking in sometime today.
Thanks.
I am curious how they will rule on this, though I would expect it will take more of a fight. I also believe these farmers and certain followers will not give it up if today's decision goes against them.
N Dakota's climate mimics Manitoba's very closely. If a crop can be found that is productive in the short growing season of the mid-northern US, it is worth the fight.
Too bad the US isn't as reasonable with its citizens as Canada is.

Hemp farming will be legal when a division of ADM asks for it.
