So apparently, a guy who was known as the town crank walked
into a hardware store, bought some road flares and tied them around his waist and then proceedeto cause a hostage crisis.

The fearsome Al-Queida hasn't pulled off anything nearly that spectacular in this country in 6 years

Why are we worried about Al-Queida again?

3. I didn't mean to suggest a lock down. I was thinking more along the
lines that if a guy this disorganized could figure out how to take hostages and gain national notoriety, why hasn't Al-Quaida been able to do the same thing? Some people worry night and day that they are going to be killed by terrorists. Rudy Guillianni is playing to that crowd. I could cause devastation and destruction in about two hours if I set my mind to it, and I'm just a middle aged, over weight housewife! So where's Al-Quida been? The only two possibilities that I can see is that

A. Al-Quadia only engages in plots of such Rube Goldberg complexity that they are always discovered and stopped

Or

B. Maybe Al-Quaida isn't the number one threat to the US?

I do note that some people calling themselves Al-Quadia have set off bombs in Iraq.
I also hope that the six year quiet spell continues.

4. people in this country that have nothing more to do than worry about
Edited on Fri Nov-30-07 11:18 PM by chimpsrsmarter
their town in the middle of east bum fuck getting hit by "the terrah doers!" need to get some mental help and i'm not kidding. I totally agree with you that of course acts of terrorisim do happen but you are right in guessing Al-Quaeda's is far from the number 1 threat to our daily lives. I live on a street with 22 houses, 5 are them are currently in foreclosure.

6. I can't think of a good slogan tonight, but there has to be something ther about how
bankers (speculators?) have destroyed more American lives than Al-Quadia and Katrina put together!

2. Ha! Rendition flights are one way, baby!
No frequent flier miles for you.

It's not safe to mess with a Bush. So stop thinking. Al Qaeda is BAD. OK? Get it, got it, good.

I think I've made my point. BE AFRAID. DON'T THINK. JUST VOTE REPUBLICAN.

10. I know — it's like Kadafi
The proliferation of spellings for the name of Libya's leader has long been one of the more interesting aspects of Libay. There are several problems. There is no generally accepted authority for romanizing Arabic names , while the Central Intelligence Agency uses Muammar Qadhafi.

Spellings found on Google

Moamar al-Gadafi 7,770
Moamer Al-Gadafy 2,130
Moammar Al Gaddafi 59,000
