BOOTYGATE METASTASIZING: 400k Amex Prepay Slush Fund Used To Pay Cops To WALK NATHAN'S DOG!!!
--snip--

The Shag Fund not only paid for the 11 tryst visits to Hamptons.

-- It paid for hotel and other expenses for mayoral aides -- in addition to the security detail -- who also went with the mayor to the Hamptons on the tryst weekends.

-- Nathan's NYPD-chauffeured trips (without Rudy) to visit her parents in Pennsylvania, 130 outside the city.

-- NYPD detectives and city-owned undercover Dodge to drive Nathan around the city.

-- NYPD security detail for Nathan, personally approved by Bernard Kerik.

-- NYPD cops to walk Nathan's dog.

Amazing. NYPD officers assigned to WALK Her Majesty's dog.

As Randi Rhodes would say "UNBELIEVABLE!"

I'd say that, too.

For the love of GOD, who can vote for this man????????????

62. He needs to be prosecuted for diverting & embezzeling public funds
and obstructing the duties of police officers.

Rudy misappropriated public funds. He diverted those funds entrusted in his care and then fraudulently used those funds as if it were his own property. He was even sneaky and organized enough to divert his misdeeds by utilizing little known City agencies; places that that were probably less sophisticated than the larger, better known ones, and maybe even in awe of the Mayor's office. Agencies less likely to question, either out of awe, fear or gain.

There's no two ways about it. When someone embezzles, they lie. In Rudy's case, his deception was hidden behind the word 'Security'. When you're on the up and up, there is no need to lie and scheme.

Rudy belongs in jail - and very soon! He now has his eye on our (currently looted) Treasury; I've no doubt he knows plenty of ways to wring more dollars out of that turnip.

He is not an honest man. He is a liar, a cheat, and a thief.

14. Jonathan Alter mentioned talking points memo on Keith
last night. He did so in a kind of infuriating, dismissive way, and didn't address the accuracy of the claims on TPM, but at least he mentioned it. As usual, the "mainstream media", even the ones who claim to be liberal or critical of * are still WAAY behind the curve. But again, at least he got it out there. I think this one might have legs.

But I'm guessing on his first night in the WH Rudy would get naked and roll around in a big pile of hundreds. He'd probably order a dozen hookers the next night.

He is THE poster child for government corruption. Corrupt all the way to his soul.

Rudy stuck the fork in himself when he decided to run as a pro-choice Republican.

I do think Romney still has legs as a pro-flip flopping on abortion Republican. If Huckabee gets money though, he will be the nominee.

He noted that Giuliani and his senior aides Thursday "blamed anonymous bookkeepers for his administration's practice of billing the travel expenses for his personal security detail to obscure city agencies.

"But a top aide was unable to say why Giuliani’s administration and his successor's rebuffed questions from the city's top fiscal watchdog in 2001 and 2002. City Comptroller William Thompson said Thursday his auditors were 'stonewalled' by the Giuliani administration when they inquired about the unusual billing procedures, which he called 'disturbing.'

"Instead, Giuliani and his aides focused their attention on the issue of whether the unlikely divisions of the mayor's office had been reimbursed — not why the expenses were billed to out-of-the-way agencies such as the New York City Loft Board in the first place."

Lets not forget. Unlike Bill's "happy ending" in the Oval office, Giuliani's billing the city for upkeeping his mistress is actually fraud. It's a crime.

If the Democrats weren't salivating at the prospect of Giuliani being the nominee, the New York Attorney General would be all over this.

51. Gail Collins on this latest turn in Shag Fund:
"The city was at one point paying for police guards to protect and transport not only Rudy, his children and his elderly mother, but also both his wife and his mistress. Really, they were this close to assigning a detail to the family retriever and a springer spaniel he was courting down the block."

82. that's the one thing I can't figure out with the Ghoul
"The city was at one point paying for police guards to protect and transport not only Rudy, his children and his elderly mother, but also both his wife and his mistress."

Why is he nutzo over all this police protection? If I were he and if I were having extramarital affairs while in a gov't position, I would want to have the least number of people around. People talk.

Furthermore, why does he think all of these obscure people (like his elderly mother) also need police protection?

Maybe he really believes his own public persona (his Tough Guy image) and has everyone around him scared? Ego trip? What? I really don't get it.

The last person I would want around me is a police officer. Their attitudes make me nervous, not secure.

53. Rudy owed Kerik one heck of huge favor for this too! - DHS head
"NYPD security detail for Nathan, personally approved by Bernard Kerik."

So what was Kerik's cut of the slush find?

quid pro quo for DHS sec via Rudy's pushing the WH.

68. You gotta wonder if the source of this isn't KERIK himself? Or Judith REGAN?
A lotta Judith's out there getting in trouble lately, ya notice? Miller, Regan, Nathan?? Judy is the new Monica, it seems...But I digress.

Kerik was "hurt" that Rudy turned his back on the guy when the heat was on him. Revenge is a dish served cold, is all I'm saying....

Romney's an empty suit, an Giuliguano is wearing a ton of dirty laundry. I thought Republicans knew how to dress!

83. Actually, I might start worrying if I were Her Ladyship.
After all, rudy now has a pattern, does he not, of throwing over one wife for a backstage girl. The backstage girl better watch her back. After all, what's to stop him from throwing HER over, eventually, for some younger, cuter little courtesan? And if he had the power and weight of the federal government at his disposal to hush things up and move money around to pay for secret little love shacks, just imagine how easy it could be to cheat on her then?

And something else just struck me as I wrote that. I suspect that ANY "other woman" who stole her man from his now ex-wife would be looking over her shoulder CONSTANTLY, suspicious about ANY signs or signals that it's about to happen to HER, too. Could it be that this explains why she's always calling him on his (undoubtedly) private cell number at random times - to check up on him, where he is, what he's up to, who he's with? I tell ya, MY head wouldn't rest easy if I were her. Especially as he advances in power and prominence. Power is, according to some, the ultimate aphrodesiac. Imagine how appetizing he must increasingly appear, to other scheming opportunistic bimbettes with delusions of greater riches, pampering, and glory? Her Ladyship isn't unique, by ANY stretch of the imagination. ESPECIALLY if he becomes the nominee, or heaven forbid, president. I'd be nervous as hell underneath my designer "sample size" duds these days if I were her.

87. Interesting musing, calimary. Indeed, this might be the reason she "calls"
him all the time- checking up on whether he in a "power" lunch with a "mover and shaker".
