Racism > Thought Experiment: Leave all factors in our relationships with Iraq
exactly as they are, but change one. Would Americans have supported the Invasion and Occupation of Iraq if Iraqis were White "Christians'?

3. I think this is my new street-corner-sign:
"What if Iraqis were White "Christians"?"

What do you think leftofthedial: Do you think people will understand a sign like that? Or do I have to make it more explicit, something such as: "Would we have invaded if Iraqis were White "Christians?" - or - "What would the body count be if Iraqis were White "Christians"?

12. Why?

Synchronicity.

There is something that is referred to somewhat erroneously as "Go(o)d". Whatever it is, It is part of the phenomenal multi-verse, of which you are also a part. The fact that "we" are a bunch of idolatorous blasphemers doesn't make whatever Go(o)d is any less Real, it just makes Us less Real.

Edited to remove square brackets in the original and replace with parantheses, because square brackets "comment out" whatever they contain, in this case, the extra "o" in Go(o)d.

10. Gotta' keep the word count down.
Our poor sad Public Schools are churning out a BUNCH of people who can't handle much more than 10 or so words at a time. I run into that fact all over the internet.

2. No, but they would have if
they were brown or black or "other". Remember, William McKinley justified the Spanish American War as a way we could get the Philippines and "Christianize" it, when a majority of the population had been Christian for hundreds of years. Oh wait, they were Roman Catholic. Maybe they weren't the right kind of Christian.

9. Hi there, ayeshahaqqiqa. What have you been doing for the "holidays"?
I know how negative this time of year is to some; how do you turn it into anything positive?

Also, could you give me a phonetic spelling of your name please? I'm a Wordie, so I like to "hear" the words in my life.

15. Waiting for the light to return in March
I don't do anything except try and avoid any shopping malls! Other than that, I keep to my regular routine. My husband wants to see his brother over Christmas to get income tax advice, so we'll probably go down there. They are secular Jews, and have a party at their bar in Arlington TX for their regulars, and I go hide somewhere and do puzzles while I'm down there.

I'm an audio - oriented person myself. Here's the pronunciation of my name:

ah YAY sha ha KEEK ah

Ayesha Haqqiqa

a bit, before I get it.

Good advice. Lay low, conserve energy while it's dark and cold, rest up for the work ahead.

My daughter and her husband are coming for a visit. They want to see all of their cousins. I will not be going to the malls either. I will make food (my granola and whole-wheat walnut bread) which I will give to people in glass storage containers that they can re-use for left-overs the rest of the year.

Solidarity!

18. Here's a recipe to go with your bread
Not too sweet, yet very good. It came from my great-grandfather, who brought it from Germany:

Pineapple-Apricot Spread.

1 package dried apricots
1 can unsweetened pineapple
Water

Put dried apricots in pan and cover with water. Heat until apricots have "plumped up". Remove from heat and cool slightly. Put about 1/4 in a blender and add about 1/4 of the pineapple. Include the pineapple juice, too. Blend until smooth, then add more, about the same amount, until all is blended.

This isn't a spread I've seen on the store shelves, but it is easy to make and use. Also no added sugar!

4. That's two factors.
It is fair to say that the United States has different ideas about white, Christian nations that share a similar culture with the US.

7. I stand corrected.
Which sign (see my post above) do you think will be the easiest for people to understand?

17. Right. Never forget the Real reasons for what our "masters" do.
It's ironic that even Racists and Racism are being used by the powers-that-be. But one does wonder, what with the depth and virulence of the roots of Racism, who will end up being used by whom.
