Senator John Edwards Statement On Safe Resolution Of Situation
Senator John Edwards Statement On Safe Resolution Of Situation At Hillary Clinton Campaign Office In Rochester, New Hampshire

Manchester, NH – Senator John Edwards released the following statement on news that all hostages were safely released from Hillary Clinton's Rochester, NH campaign office and no citizens or law enforcement officials were harmed:

"Elizabeth and I send our thoughts and prayers to everyone involved in the situation in Rochester, New Hampshire today. We are thankful that no one was harmed and deeply admire the brave work of the Rochester Police Department, the New Hampshire State Police and all of the law enforcement agencies whose handling of the situation today kept everyone safe.

"Everyday Americans who stand up and get involved on behalf of the candidates they believe in represent the very best of our democracy. While we may support different candidates, each and every one of us are united by a belief that together, we can make our country the best it can be. We are so grateful that no one working today was harmed, and we send our warmest thoughts to Senator Clinton and her entire staff."

1. I actually love what Hillary said
She paid tribute to the thousands of believers who set aside their lives every four years so they can propel presidential campaigns on little more than blood, sweat and tears.

"They believe in our future. They work around the clock. They are so committed to their cause, and I just want to commend every one of them from every campaign who really makes what is a sacrifice and a commitment," Clinton said. "A lot of them postpone school, leave their families, move across the country, and I'm so grateful for them every single day, and I'm especially just relieved to have this situation end so peacefully without anyone being injured."

3. yes, she did
I trust that Obama and Edwards would have handled themselves just as well. In matters of life and possible death like this, politics tends to take a backseat, the knives get put away and people are just nice to each other for a brief time. I kinda like it.

4. Agree with the both of you - poise, maturity and diplomacy all around

The jerk squad is a TINY minority, and most of us want to get along on some level, even while debating issues.
Everyone that does that has my respect, no matter who their candidate is.

You guys are some of the good ones
