Kucinich Preparing Articles of Impeachment of Bush, Says It Would be too Late After Iran Attack
Sounding traditional Democratic themes on issues such as health care, civil rights, education,
health care, jobs, and retirement security, Presidential candidate Dennis Kucinich told Party leaders and activists today that they need to reconnect with the basic values of Americans and with their own core values to regain the White House in 2008.

Kucinich, interrupted frequently by approving applause, drew the most enthusiastic response from Democratic loyalists when he raised the issue of impeachment against Vice President Cheney and the possibility of similar impeachment legislation against President Bush.

Referring to the aggressive and heightened rhetoric from the Administration towards Iran, Kucinich said, "This is essentially a war crime in motion." And, he told attendees at the winter meeting of the Democratic National Committee, that he is preparing Articles of Impeachment
against the President similar to those he introduced against Cheney earlier this year for deceiving Congress and the American people about the justification for authorizing military action against Iraq.

1. What's the next step in this? I'm waiting for SOMETHING to happen after the
House vote. Can anybody educate me?

Tempus fugit - we gotta get moving on this.

Go Dennis! :loveya:

2. He's absolutely right on this. It would be too late.
But for Dennis it's too late to give him any serious consideration after the Ron Paul fiasco.

You can be right about something as obvious and Iraq/Iran and the bush** administration and still be unfit for the office of pResident. Unhappily that's what Kucinich proved to me the other day.

3. If the RP "fiasco" turned you off to Dennis, I doubt you ever supported him very much
Geez ... talk about making a mountain out of a molehill. Esp. when compared to the "fiasco" factor of other
Dem. candidates... take your pick.

Dennis has been more consistently right much more of the time than ANY of them... how can you know know this?

9. agreed.
Most likely that person wasn't a supporter anyway.

Not sure I care for the Paul thing either--especially after I heard his out of mainstream ideas. But unless one of the first tiered candidates starts talking impeachment before the house burns instead of after, then I am still on the sidelines in general.

DK at least has the better impeachment plan. And the better healthcare plan.

10. Yeah, all these candidates whistling past the graveyard.
Don't tell me what you are going to do "When you get in the White House". Stand up and act like a leader, fucking-NOW!!

We have a little bit of a democracy and piece of the Constitution that need saving.

It may be to late to indulge in their WH pipe dreams.

15. I Have No Candidate

I was considering DK until the RP thing.

A lot of us never did support him "very much", but were prepared to vote for him until now.

If DK can get impeachment moving, he could win my vote back again.

18. I know damn good and well that Ron Paul is a nutcase, a dangerous
nutcase. And for any democrat to even IMPLY that they'd share a ballot with the guy probably needs some serious help in the mental health area.

And explain to me who you are to tell me what I know and what I don't know. Either your ESP skills are slipping or you just make blanket accusations out of ignorance and arrogance. Which one is it?

4. Kucinich uses to sElection cycle to draw attention
to the most pressing issues. Whether he wins is, largely, immaterial. As a candidate, even a suppressed one, he gets more attention than as a congressman.

6. "Reconnecting with basic values of Americans"
that's exactly what his Presidential campaign is forcing Democratic candidates to do, including holding Bush accountable to prevent an invasion of Iran.

Every Dem candidate for '08 should have the same platform as Dennis:

"He called for a full employment economy, based on the FDR, Depression-era WPA, to put millions of Americans to work re-building highways, water systems, public utilities, public buildings, and other crumbling elements of the nation's infrastructure. He acknowledged and embraced the role of government as "employer of last resort," adding that federal trade policies had put millions of Americans out of work through legislatively facilitated outsourcing of U.S. jobs overseas.

He pointed out that he is the only Democratic candidate calling for repeal of those trade agreements, calling for repeal of the Patriot Act, a total overhaul of the health care system, and fully funded education from pre-kindergarten through college."

His campaign keeps our Dem candidates focused on the relevant issues.

As Confucious said.

At least DK is trying.

17. if * attacks Iran...
I say Kucinich has the election in the bag. I don't understand why more people don't join him in his fight. Hell, after *'s signing statement today, I think that the rest of the party (and DU) would work towards nothing else but the removal of this criminal that is in our govt.
