I f Rudy still gets the nomination after all this!
http://talkingpointsmemo.com/archives/060017.php

He has shown himself to be a man without the temperament, honesty, convictions or mental grace to be President. What would it say about the Republicans and America if he were still get the nominating?
And (MY GOD) what if he actually won?!?

(And please don't overstate the obvious about the current occupant of the oval office.)

1. IMO, it won't be Rudy who's the problem. It will the people who voted for him
and put him in a position of power over all of us.

3. ERR xquse me but the pResident works FOR us. He does not have any power over us other than what we
give him. Remember that they get their power from the Consent of the governed.

8. The Giuliani campaign headquarters must be an angry, brooding place
long about now.

Last spring this guy had gleaming poll numbers.

They ain't gleamin' no more.

He's run such a poor strategic campaign that hapless Huckabee and creepoid Romney are outpolling him in Iowa and New Hampshire, and both those two rapidly gaining on him in South Carolina.

Rudy's going to look like something the cat dragged in if he loses all 3 of those first 3 states' contests.

And not a housecat, either. A puma.

10. I hope he DOES get the nomination.
Most voters have no idea about this, or his stance on social issues, or his marriage to his cousin/serial cheating/leaving his wife via press conference/3 marriages. All they know is that he "saved the day" on 9/11... that's basically it. But if he gets the nomination, everyone will know. These things will not float well at all with the fundies or "moral and social issues" voters.

11. If St. Rudy of 9/11 cannot win outright in the primaries
I expect the Reich oligarchs to get him the nomination through a brokered convention.

The oligarchs, who own the Reich lock, stock and barrel, have decided St. Rudy is their boy.

If St. Rudy falls, it will not be due to a lack of effort on the part of the oligarchs.

14. Try plan D
Fred Thompson was plan B, but they keep having to wake him up during the debates to remind him that he's supposed to be the exiting candidate.

Plan C is engaging the Huckabee crowd, which is really not a new plan, it's just back to the same old "gods-guns-gays" crap that they have already worn out and disillusioned 70 percent of the country with over the past 7 years, but that's the republicans in a nutshell anyway-dig around in the trash heap and declare anything that they find in there as new and exiting.

Plan D is diebold and , but the elections aren't close enough to steal.

Come to think of it...the repugs are pretty much fucked. That makes me happy as hell.

16. Did Bloomberg cover this up for Rudy
http://campaignspot.nationalreview.com/post/?q=NGUxYzQyNzZlMDRlMmI2YmU3NDNiZjRmMWExZWQ1NjA=

<snip>
Here's the line that jumps out:

The expenses were flagged in early 2002 by city Comptroller William C. Thompson Jr., whose auditors "were unable to verify that these expenses were for legitimate or necessary purposes," according to a letter to Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Giuliani's successor. The letter also noted that "non-local travel expenditures" for mayoral agencies on the account soared 151 percent in one year.

In a prepared statement, Stu Loeser, Bloomberg's press secretary, said: "During the Giuliani Administration, we believe that security expenses that were originally paid by the mayor's office were ultimately reimbursed by the Police Department."

In an interview, however, he said Bloomberg's policy is to have the police department pay those departments directly.

If Bloomberg or his office had wanted to twist the knife in Giuliani, and issue a statement that insinuated wrongdoing, they could have. They didn't.
