Dumb Question: Popcorn?
What does it mean when a person posts disturbing news about something, and another guy says, "Pass the popcorn!"?

9. lol. reminds me of a hallow' eve party where a girl
came dressed as a bag of jelly beans, using a bag like that. Unfortunately, her bag tore, and she was wearing nothing underneath.

And no, I did NOT tear her bag.

14. Ooh, bad thinking.
I saw a girl dressed as a bag of jelly beans at a Girl Scout party once. She didn't pop, but I think she was wearing something underneath anyway.

Don't see how she had much fun, though. You're pretty much reduced to standing and walking around. You can't see or interact too well when you're trapped in a bag of balloons.

in fact i get my popcorn at the farmers market. luckily i have lots of bags in the freezer, cause last years crop was destroyed by frost. WHITE popcorn. i use the popcorn kettle. all it has done for at least 35 years. i can also make kettle corn if i want to.
AND i only use CORN OIL to pop popcorn.

15. If you're an old timer, it's like falling off a bicycle.
Just put the required amount of oil in the bottom of the kettle, heat, then toss in as much popcorn as the directions say, make sure the kernels cover the bottom evenly, put on the lid, and when things start to pop, put on your mitts, grab both handles and shake, shake, shake around the burner 'til popping stops. Drizzle with butter, maybe some parmesan cheese if you like...Mm-mm.

Anyone else go to college in the era when the air popper was big? Everyone would get together in the room of whoever owned the thing and they'd make tons of popcorn to eat while talking, studying, etc.

In the dorm I lived in, every other room had glass lamp shades that were big glass white half-spheres fastened to the lamp by a finial, and it was customary to remove the lamp shade, tape over the finial hole, turn it upside down and use it as a bowl to catch the popcorn. Many a lampshade filled with melted butter had to be cleaned and repositioned in those years.
