The City of St. Louis is the latest community to consider making cyber harassment a crime.
Aldermanic board president Lewis Reed and Alderwoman April Ford-Griffin are sponsoring the city measure.
The issue is also on the table in O'Fallon, Mo. The proposal there could lead to a $500 fine or 90 days in jail for those who harass others over the Internet.

A 16-year old boy was first charged with harassment. The charge was later reduced to littering and the teen paid a $500 fine.
In the most recent case, the O'Fallon prosecutor said he dropped the charge to littering because the harassment ordinance in that city and others is weak. But the fine is the same: $500.
