He sure must have all of the other candidates beat in the skeleton category if this is all they can try to sting him with... that and an essay he wrote in kindergarten...

Oh my goodness...he's so evil...he can't be president....

laughable!!!

Frankly I think the fact that this is all they have speaks well for Obama!

1. It is acceptable fodder for a campaign. He admitted to breaking the law
and to using drugs. It is fair game to know: was it just teenage experimentation? What did he learn from it? How often did he do it?

You know, he is the one who has brought it up in the campaign--it is absolutely fair game.

I am so surprised at the response around here. Can you imagine if Clinton had admitted something like that?

3. No one would give a fuck if Clinton admitted it. Her husband "almost" admitted it. nt

4. No on cares about what Obama admitted to -- it's the fact that another
candidate's campaign put it out there under the guise of concern about what those filthy Republican fucks would do with the info.

5. he brought it up in 1995 in his very well written and inspirational memoir
You should read it.

Oh and by the way, the fact the Bill Clinton was in possession of pot is also a crime.... Thank GOD he had the good sense not to inhale!

You better hope and pray that your candidate doesn't come under scrutinty. Something tells me that there will be a lot more to attack with her than something she did as a teen or as a student in elementary school.

If making mistakes as a teen is a reason to keep people from serving in public office as an adult, I don't that the we would have anyone available to run for office.

I'm MUCH more concerned about the BAD JUDGMENT your candidate exhibited in voting for the Iraq war authorization and signing on to Kyl/Lieberman than I am about Obama experimenting with drugs as a teen.

7. you see--it was vetted during the Clinton campaign
Clinton's drug use was brought up and discussed. Why should Obama's drug use be any different?

And really, he brought it up in a book...it is fair game to see if he minimized it, or made it sound better than it was...that is all fair game.

I do not understand the problem.

10. It has nothing to do with the man he is now and nothing to do with the important issues facing
this country.

You know that. You're just hoping and praying that this issue works in your candidates favor.

I find the immaturity of the Clinton campaign stiking.

If this is an example of the type of people she will surround herself with as president, I pray she continues to fall in the polls.

And again, I'm more concerned with Clintons Iraq war vote and her support for Kyl/Lieberman. she won't get my vote on that basis.

Dirty tricks on her part won't change the minds of those who have a fundamental problem with her recent judgment, as an ADULT and a member of the Senate. It is her lack of judgment (which frankly is also exhibited by how she is handling her campaign) which I feel signficantly effects her ability to lead this country into the future and correct the problems created by the past administration.

6. After Chimp's
druggie past I wouldn't think it would hurt Obama. I don't think it speaks well of him but I don't think it hurts him that much, those offended wouldn't vote for him anyway.

Look at Chimps performance...

Is it worth it taking the risk on another dope head?

On the other hand, !@$@$#% what Hillary Clinton has to smear with.

13. Good point
Chimp being a literal dope, it doesn't speak well for drug use.

9. Absolutely.
They can't find anything else, so they have to manufacture it, using distortions, exaggerations, and lies.

News flash: Obama will not be swiftboated -- and Dems should know enough to be above those kinds of tactics.

12. If you really believe that's all the Pubs would use against him, you
really have your head deep in the sand! I've said it before, and I'll say it again...if they can't find anything really BAD against a Dem candidate, they'll just make stuff up! Remember McCain in SC, Kerry and the Swiftboaters?

Rover might be out of the WH, but believe me, the Pubs haven't forgotten what he taught them!
