"Enhanced Interrogation has saved lives,"
This is the RWing mantra now. Is there any proof of that claim?

1. It is a bald-faced lie, I say AND ..
Edited on Wed Dec-12-07 10:15 PM by Maat
it has to be one of the most revolting things I've ever heard them say.

Sy Hersh stated in 2004 that CHILDREN were raped! There HAS to be a special Hell for anyone who would plan that, approve of it, or do it (and I don't believe in Hell).

On edit: AND, even if it were true, that's not an excuse for BREAKING THE LAW or lowering oneself that much. I could never hurt another human being like that (Oh, that's because I AM a HUMAN BEING)!

2. Of course there's no proof ...
... because it's a lie.

The right-wing, and especially this administration, are notorious for making statements that can't be verified.

"What plots have been thwarted, thereby saving lives?"

"Duh, we can't say for reasons of national security. Just TRUST US. TAKE OUR WORD FOR IT."

Yeah, that's the SAME word that insisted that Iraq had WMDs, mobile chemical labs, and weapons-carrying drones that could reach the US.

Of all the things that the GOP do that gets on my nerves, their lack of CREATIVITY is definitely number one on the list.

3. The RWing is trying to get the American people to approve
Torture. Sadly, it seems to be working.

4. It's easy to prove
1. We've been torturing people since 9/11.
2. There have been no terrorist attacks inside the USA since 9/11.
Therefore, torture has saved lives. QED

:sarcasm:

5. Yes, that's what ticks me off so badly.
The sheeple really want to believe that, Azathoth (including my nutty relatives and acquaintances). Disgusting.

6. But they BELIEVE it, and that makes it so.
I believe George Bush is a Christian.
I believe torture saves lives.
I believe the democrats want to surrender before we have victory in Iraq.

However, I don't believe in global warming.

Why the flat earth GOP gets away with this I believe/don't believe nonsense is beyond me. Someone's got to start asking them what they think - if they think. As in, "You say torture has saved American lives, can you give me an example?" Or, "You say torture has saved American lives, so people give reliable information under torture, and you know this how?" Or, You say torture has saved American lives, does that make it ethical and legal?" Make them mumble more than the latest implanted slogan. I bet they can't.

9. Part of making people believe something, one of the first steps actually,
is to get people to use the verbiage you want them to use. 'Enhanced Interrogation' my ass.

Torture.

That's what it is.

10. Hey listen, didn't you get the memo?
This is faith-based national security. We shouldn't have to prove it works. Just pray it does!

11. Bull F'ing Shit!
If they had foiled any plans for even one attack, it would have been in the news for weeks and weeks... with everyone praising the Divine Emperor Bushitte for his supreme powers!

No way did they let a chance like that pass them by! And it would have been smart to put it out there too... to let other terrorists know DEB is on the job!

The only REAL terrorists are in Washington DC.
