US repatriates 15 from Guantanamo
SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - The U.S. announced Wednesday that it has sent 15 prisoners from the Guantanamo Bay prison back to their home nations.

The military transferred 13 men to Afghanistan and two to Sudan, the Department of Defense said in a statement. Their names were not released.

The U.S. has now transferred about 485 prisoners to their native countries, where most have been subsequently released.

There are now about 290 men held at Guantanamo, most of them without charge. U.S. authorities have said they plan to prosecute about 80 in military tribunals at the Navy base in southeast Cuba. Military officials have said they are in negotiations with countries to accept dozens of prisoners who have been cleared for transfer by review panels.

So, the US held nealy 800 men, some for 5+ years, with torture and only 80 are even going to be tried? And in a military tribunal?

How many are left at black sites?

1. And what about those 485 that were held? Do you think they have hate
in their hearts for the US? :grr: There's more than one way to create someone who hates America.

3. Some of these men were picked up as boys: 14, 15, 16.
Their entire adult lives have been spent incarcerated and interrogated, without charge.

In what court, "The Kangaroo COurt"?

WHy not just shoot them outright, it would be just as just.

Not to mention at this rate, they'll all be dead of natural causes before they ever see a judge.

It's a goulog....

Yes in AMerica, it can happen.

4. and do they have legal recourse to challenge their years held?
because government need not pretend setting them free is good enough...because such in no way changes that they were held for years for no reason, in a war based on a pack of lies, and that many of those held were tortured at one time or another.
