Why is the AJC pounding the subliminal drum beat toward war with Iran?
Heard this today as an 'informational' during the Ed Schultz Show

'AJC Radio Message: Americans Staying Alert on Iran

December 12, 2007 – New York – “Americans don’t buy the intelligence estimate, released last week, that Iran has stopped its nuclear weapons program,” says American Jewish Committee Executive Director David A. Harris in his national radio message. “Rasmussen Reports, a national polling group, found that only 18 percent of Americans believe Iran has given up its drive to build a nuclear bomb.”

Harris’s weekly messages on the CBS radio network air during the Osgood File. All AJC radio commentaries since 2001 are available at www.ajc.org.

The full text of this week’s commentary follows:

A new national poll on Iran has just been conducted.

The results are revealing.

Americans don’t buy the intelligence estimate, released last week, that Iran has stopped its nuclear weapons program.

Rasmussen Reports, a national polling group, found that only 18 percent of Americans believe Iran has given up its drive to build a nuclear bomb.

By contrast, an overwhelming 66 percent disagree.

Moreover, 77 percent of Americans believe that Iran is very, or somewhat, likely to develop a nuclear weapon in the future.

And, by a margin of 3-1, those polled say that America should continue to impose economic sanctions on Iran.

Iran is enriching uranium it doesn’t need. It’s building long-range missiles. And its leaders call America the enemy.

As they say, if it looks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck.

The American people understand that we need to stay alert.

because Iran has a lot of oil and the warmongers believe war is great for a tanking economies. Most of the American people know there are many more higher priorities than alienating the entire world. Further, the Israelis don't like to be threatened, verbally or otherwise, without retaliation. It is time for THEM to sit on their hands.

3. Well...
...because the AJC believes that Israel's security (and/or ability to perpetuate the Occupation indefinitely) is only helped by making sure that every Arab/Muslim country (and particularly any explicitly hostile to Israel) is kept weak and unable to mount any military challenge for the foreseeable future.

5. It doesn't appear to be "subliminal "....
That stupid RW Rasmussen poll has been reported widely on all the news channels yesterday.

AJC is right in the heart of the military industrial complex. I'm not surprised at all.

They have to fire up the base, don't you know? :sarcasm:

7. So much for the War on Terror. While the Junta and their buddies
are trying to go into Iran, Northwest Pakistan has been talibanized and al Qaida is training people there from all over the world.

8. Those numbers look about the same as the number who
still believed that Saddam had something to do with 911, long after the invasion.

What is wrong with people!!!!

9. Because the "liberal" MSM won't do it for them. So they have to pay big bucks.
Try as they might, Americans aren't as easily fooled this time. Thank goodness.
