Gonzales Named Lawyer of the Year
By LARA JAKES JORDAN – 17 hours ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — A magazine published by the American Bar Association on Wednesday named former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales its Lawyer of the Year for 2007 — mostly for creating so much controversial news.

The ABA Journal also picked Attorney General Michael Mukasey — Gonzales' successor — to be its lawyer of the year for 2008 because he has to deal with the problems left when Gonzales resigned under fire last fall....

4. Maybe even "Lawyer of the Millenium"
Who else could roll back the hands of time 800 years to the time before Habeas Corpus?

5. They did it not to honor him but as the article says
because of the controversy. I heard a spokesman on NPR this morning saying it was much like Time's person of the year- not neccessarily a person whose actions are commendable, like Stalin or Hitler.

8. But most people won't read the whole article
and it becomes a great talking point "see he wasn't bad, the left just didn't like a Hispanic being high up".
