I just sent my contribution envelope back to the DCCC...
with the following note (BTW, this one was addressed to me from Barbara Boxer. I've gotten them from Pelosi, Gore, etc...you know the drill asking for contributions):

On the reply slip showing "amount" I put in ZERO DOLLARS and wrote this note:

I will reconsider when I see John Conyers begin impeachment hearings, and when I see INHERENT contempt proceedings in either the House or Senate; until then--not one dime.

1. Thanks for the reminder; I'm doing likewise with mine. I guess
we have to spell it out for them, literally.

2. Great idea. I usually just toss them in the garbage, but sending them a message with ZERO $$$$
may open their damn eyes.

7. My Rep. is a DINO named Jim Marshall...
and I'll be damned if he ever gets my vote or financial support again. Repuke in sheep's clothing.

3. I think that is a great idea to get attention, I know some might whine saying that in doing
such only gives the repubs the edge, at this point in time I don't agree, nothing wrong with giving, but give to those who have proven they will use it wisely, its past time to ignore what is going on with the ever lessening hope that things will make themselves right before it is too late.

4. I've been putting similar notes on their beggings for years, but they keep
sending them to me.

As for listening to us, it won't happen until the corporate and wealthy contributions are removed and they have to rely on us little people. Since that will never happen, it is probably just an exercise in frustration-release.

But it does feel good to tell them to go to hell. And they do have to pay the return postage because i will not use my stamp to send it back to them.

10. Well, if it's only cathartic for me...
it will have been worth it.

5. It is not the impeachment
it is about getting any law passed.

The children health that Bush just vetoed. They can override it in the Senate but not in the House??

It is passing the law preventing people who lost their house from being presented with a tax bill for the difference between what their mortgage was and what it the house was sold, it is fixing the Alternative Minimum Tax, it is passing the farm reform bill where wealthy people who own farms get subsidies.

There are so many issues that face voters right here, now, in person and you are thinking about impeachment that really does not make a difference for people of whether they have access to health care, whether their jobs are secure, whether their school prepare their kids for making a decent living and whether they will ever be able to stop working?
