this has been my worst nightmare for some months now. as we get closer to the Nov 08 election, some terrorist plot or act happens, prompting bush/cheney to declare martial law.
we just watched a pretty bad movie, called Idiocracy (brought to you by the folks who brought us Beavis and Butthead). It's about our world 500 years in the future where we are so dumbed down: english has turned into a hybrid of ghetto/valley girl, everyone has a barcode on their wrist, the best movie of the year is "Ass", and the govt is owned by corporations.
perhaps, that future isn't so far away...
ok, i should not wake up with that degree of cynicism (sp?).
