Fox analyst: Lieberman’s endorsement is MoveOn’s fault.

Fox political analyst Bob Beckel mourned last night that Sen. Joe Lieberman’s endorsement of John McCain is “the price…us Democrats pay for MoveOn.org and others who drove Joe Lieberman out of the party,” said Beckel. “They campaigned against him actively and raised money against him and he was beaten in the Democratic primary. … Now we’re paying the price and all I can say is ‘a pox on their house.’”

1. I think one can count on the fox network to condemn any liberalism on the part of Democrats.
It's kind of their shtick.

3. actually it is the neo-con's fault
Lieberman was loosing his local election to Ned Lamont. He called in Rove who tweaked the voting machines giving Lierberman the win--in exchange for his soul.

And since then he has been paying the neo-cons back.

Does he really think the Lieberman endorsement is perceived as a "loss" by Democrats?

It most assuredly is not.

9. So let me see if I have this right....
An organization excercises its right to free speech and supports a candidate in the primary who ACTUALLY supports the party's platform. That candidate wins and the incumbent is out of the race. Incumbent tells party to shove it and runs as an independent. Organization endorses and supports nominee while elected party members tell the party to shove it and endorse and support the out-of-office incumbent-turned-independent. Traitorous incumbent wins reelection. Party voters tell traitorous incumbet to shove it. Traitorous incumbent again tells party voters to shove it and endorses and supports for President a candidate of the Other Party.

And all of this is the fault of the aforementioned organization. Right?

13. I don't understand this. Do they think all incumbents have an automatic right ...
to re-selection by their party?

Or only RW Dems?

It's my impression that liberal/moderate/just-not-falling-off-the-right-side-of-the-world Republicans are far more likely to be pushed out by their party than Dems. This is the hypocrisy that gets me. E.g. wasn't Hagel essentially persuaded by his party not to run again? My first memories of American politics are of St Ronnie challenging President Ford in the primary, yet somehow that's normal. But if the Dems try to get someone more liberal into office, that's practically a Stalinist purge in their view. No one EVER seems to point out in this context that one of the worst peacetime political crises in America was indirectly caused by Senator LaFollette of Wisconsin being 'purged' in favour of Joe McCarthy, which according to history books was the case. Why are Republicans allowed to keep pushing their party to the right and kicking out moderates; but Dems must never try to push their party to the left?

calculate what a Joe Lieberman endorsement is worth? Because I'm pretty sure it's worth about as much as a Gary Coleman endorsement.

19. He lost his primary, picked up his marbles and ran as an indie--Lieberman left the party
long ago. He wouldn't have endorsed a democrat anyway and nobody wanted him to.
