Happy Caucus Day, Iowans!!!! I'm so excited! Last night tells me that we are in for a fantastic
caucus--the first in a while. We had our monthly village council meeting, which I always attend since I'm an elected officer. About 10 showed up, pretty good attendance for a low activity time of the year. We have lots of Republicans in this area and some of them will say that they were born Republicans. Vote straight tickets with a Pavlovian reaction to seeing the R word. Anyway, we were sitting around the meeting room talking about all the phone calls and door knocks we had been getting this week (hey, Edwards supporters swarm) and who was contacting us. Someone chuckled that there should be some clearinghouse somewhere to help reduce the calls in the same day. We started talking about candidates and who had been to see whom. Of the ten of us, 3 were Dems the rest were Republicans. Of the Republicans in the room only a couple were planning to acutally attend the Republican caucus. One of the two was bringing his daughter with him so that she could caucus with the Dems this year. The rest of the Republicans are caucusing with the Dems and all of them are caucusing for Obama. Repeatedly they talked about needing change, and to a person (even those who will caucus with the Republicans) stated that they did not like any of the Republican candidates. The two who were staying with their party thought they might be able to tolerate Romney, then maybe McCain. Paul scares the bejesus out of them, but they could not articulate why. Now these people will attend the caucus. It is like a religion in this area and we always have good attendance.

We talked about issues and I learned that the Republicans have no problem with recognizing and taking care of the American worker. They have just been programmed to have the same Pavlovian response to the words "labor union." Some work on language needs to occur.

See ya at the caucus!!! Change is on the way!

2. On its way! Woohoo!
:applause: Guess the next year doesn't matter. I need not worry about criminals in the W.H. for a year, after-all, it's only a year.

5. Hooray for Iowa. You are the most important people in the union
Far more important than people in Georgia or Washington or Main or Nebraska. Because we, as a nation, have ordained that your caucuses will be a decisive factor in all elections. People from New Jersey may as well jump of a bridge compared to you. I'm not sure what i mean by that but you get the point. Iowa is the number one state in the Union - all other states are number 2 or lower. Hooray for Iowa!

9. Yeah, sure, bryant,. I seem to remember the important state of Florida
gave us * in 2000.

Today is an important day for us here. Now how the rest of the nation handles its primaries and caucuses is up to you. You are the closers. Do your jobs.

7. Paul scares the bejesus out of them 'cause he's got those crazy eyes...
Huckleberry and McCain are far more clever at hiding their insanity.
