It doesn't matter who won the debate tonight. What matters is
who the talking heads say won.

Remember when Gore kicked Bush's ass around the block but M$M media kept saying he was stiff, he sighed, this, that...

Same thing tonight.

However, since I'm not watching TV, I have no idea of what the so-called analysts are saying. Hell, I don't even know who the so-called analysts are. Could someone post about what's happening in the post-mortems?

7. Didn't he, though?
He did manage to choke it out, and Edwards is going to be a guest on his show tomorrow morning.

I don't know how, but Hissypit has been posting videos practically in real time. I only caught the second half myself, due to my having to do emergency reconstruction on my web site. Listen for yourself and decide for youself.

6. Like I said, what really matters is what the 'heads say happened,
not what actually happened or what I might think happened. Most Americans seem to need to have someone explain to them what it was that they just saw.

8. I'm considering a vow of only viewing sports analysts - talking heads,
until we have a candidate.

At least sportscasters, in general, remain focused on the play by play. And they don't have a poll every fifteen minutes to hash out. Oy.

Truth be told, I'd like to see an unmoderated debate among our top candidates - in this case the four who were on tonight. I suppose there could be a set of questions submitted for them all, but I'd love to see how they ran with the ball, so to speak.

11. The debate as a spectator sport
All I could think of was a sporting event: the talking heads were irritating as hell. All that was lacking were sweaty towels around everyones' necks and a sponge in a bucket to throw on the contestants. What a horrible display of the absolute worst television has to offer in this age of image and spin. Their attempt to be "serious" and "informative", made me want to vomit. Please tell me I am not alone in my hatred of this fiasco. Or am I just too damn old? I can unfortunately recall the days when we actually had legitimate journalists out there....not these clowns trying to look sincere and studious.

12. I didn't watch it because I wanted to remain objective for the DU debates.
I will later on, but for now I am observing DUers reacting to each other. :)

Fascinating! :D

16. Yes, it does.
There's something seriously wrong with the average person in this country, who seems to be unable to think or perceive for him/herself, and needs to be told things like who won the debate he/she just heard. Monday they'll all be standing around the water coolers repeating the talking heads' nonsense as if it were their own considered opinions, and as if it had substance.

14. I think it matters more who "won" the Republic debate...
or how the freeps see it.

Fred Thompson - 67.1%
Mitt Romney - - 11.5%
Ron Paul - - - - 7.3%
Rudy Giuliani - - 6.4%
Mike Huckabee - 4.8%
John McCain - - 2.9%

I think quite a few of them will be staying home election night. Works for me.
