I think it's a crying freakin' SHAME
that we, as a supposed civilized progressive country that is over 230 years old, are still having to even entertain the thought and look forward to our first black or female President. In a supposed civilized progressive country, race and/or gender shouldn't even be an issue. Yeah, let's go ahead and throw sexual orientation in there too. The opposite of pro is con, so let's wipe out congress and get started with some progress, ok??

That is all, your regularly scheduled programming will continue now...

PEACE!

Ghost

2. We had a significant developmental delay you know....
....slavery, female suffrage less than a century old. Still, better late than never, eh?

3. The Gallup poll is that only six percent of men and five percent of women
would vote against a candidate based on race alone, and that 50 years ago, it was over fifty percent.

Those six percent are kool-aid drinkers anyway.

4. while I wholeheartedly agree with you,
"supposed civilized progressive country that is over 230 years old"

There's people in Europe who have doorknobs older than our country. We are so very young, and have so much to learn still.

5. Yes, but look at the other accomplishments we've made in that 230 years
... electricity, indoor plumbing, automobiles, aircraft... and the list goes on...
