Poll question: Kucinich supporters: Who will you actually vote for in your primary?
Although the policy positions of Kucinich match my own views more than those of any other candidate do, and I have sent money to the Kucinich campaign more than once, it's obvious now that the commercial media have marginalized, trivialized and ostracized him to the point that his campaign is now only as a token "also-ran." I blame the commercial media for it, for not giving him enough airtime and in many cases not even mentioning him. So the question is, do you stick with Kucinich and vote for him in the primary? Or do you vote for another candidate to boost their chances?

4. Technically speaking, Washington is a primary state. However....
In Washington, the primaries are NOT binding. The Republican Party selects only 49% of delegates based on the primary; 51% are selected based on the caucuses. The Democratic Party has never paid any attention to the primary and instead has always selected 100% of delegates based on caucuses. As a result, it is very unlikely I will participate in the expensive waste of time that is the Washington primary.

I will, however, be standing for Kucinich at the caucus, and urging my friends to do the same. :hi:

6. Didn't know that about Washington. Thanks
The California primary for many decades used to be in June, but now it's on February 5th.

17. You might find this link handy, from WA's Sec of State about the primary
Washington State’s February 19, 2008 Presidential Primary

Both major parties will be holding caucuses ten days earlier on Feb. 9th, making the primary even more irrelevant than usual.

10. Me either
but we have a caucus and I can't participate this year because I am no longer a Democrat. There is always the general election.

Kucinich always has my vote until he no longer represents me or I can find someone else who does.

Did the party speak up when Dennis was excluded from functions in Iowa?
Did the party speak up when ABC excluded him from the debates?

I'm sticking with Dennis too.

12. The party doesn't particularly want him
He is the nagging conscience they would rather not have to deal with.

He is the little voice in the back of their heads always saying "you can do better" - especially when they least want to hear it.

11. I said Kucinich
but I live in a late primary state so by the time I get to vote, it will be meaningless anyway. I don't blame anyone for picking someone as second best and voting for them in their state primary.

18. Kansas has it "presidential primary" vote on August 5th
But since the candidates are usually chosen by then, the state legislature calls off the election.

Kansas has had only two primaries: 1980 and 1992 (I remember 1992 since I joined the Democratic Party to vote for Paul Tsongas. I was a registered "Independent" before that. I stayed with the Dems 'cause they're such a swell group to be with!:D).

I'm supporting Kucinich but will vote for the candidate whose last name ends in a capital "D."

Kansas officials had proposed holding primaries instead of caucuses in 2008,
but the legislature deleted funding for primaries from the 2008 budget.

In November 2007 Gov. Deval Patrick signed a bill moving the primary to Feb. 5.

22. Kucinich, he acted/voted in the best interests of our nation, I will
not let the corporate media choose my candidate.

None of the other candidates will hold people accountable, it is time for me to take a stand.

And while they say they will fight corporate greed, nobody else has mentioned the draft Iraq Oil law which would potentially rob the citizens of Iraq.

26. You act like this is somehow a surprise.
The media marginalization, the fact that his own party doesn't want him, and that he doesn't have much of a chance to win. These aren't surprises, these were givens going into this race, and therefore they don't change my mind one iota. I will be voting for Kucinich.

Perhaps you don't understand, Kucinich, and a handful of others that aren't running for President, are the only reasons why I'm hanging with the Democratic party. For the most part I consider the party little more than a corporate sellout whose positions really aren't that much different than those of the 'Pugs, excepting on one or two more issues. When I've voted for Dems over the past thirty years(thirty years? wow!) it hasn't been because I'm voting for somebody or for the party. I've voted Dem merely to slow down the speed with which this country is approaching the cliff edge, that is all. I can count the number of presidential candidates that I've actually voted for, and agreed with on their positions and actions, on the fingers of my left hand, with a few fingers left over. The rest has merely been an ongoing case of "voting for the lesser of two evils".

So yes, I will continue to vote and support Dennis, he is the best that this party has in my opinion. Sadly, as you say, he'll go down to defeat and the party will cough up another corporately compromised candidate. Depending on who it is, I will either continue "voting for the lesser of two evils." But my desire for real change in this country, and my ever growing reluctance to continue to enable this two party/same corporate master system of government may very well lead me to voting Green. It depends on who the Dem nominee is, and frankly what Kucinich decides to do. If he goes Green, then I'm going with him. If Hillary gets the nomination, I'm going Green. Other than that, it's wide open and I'll have to look at the nominee, and the platform very carefully before I make up my mind.

36. I love Dennis. And, I've gone over to Edwards because
there is something about the Kucinich campaign this time that is dispirited. Not judging and still so much appreciating what Dennis does. You know, you could choose among all the easier roads.

But, I need Edwards to stay viable. That may not be a fine calculation but it has been mine.
