3. That's a way to make every vote count even if you lose
I hope some are taking notes. Unity with liars and thieves is not unity.

8. That's right, you are just starting this primary. So glad to
hear that you are in the race until the convention and then on to Washington. So much gratitude to you and your beautiful wife Elizabeth for this fight you are fighting.

12. I'm a little disturbed by this.
John says it's not about him, it's about the movement for substantial change, so this pledge seems a bit selfish to me. I understand why he said it-his whole candidacy is based on his "fighter" image. He doesn't want to show any sign that he's backing down, especially after he semi-endorsed Obama during the last debate. That's great, but if his candidacy continues to stagnate and Obama falls behind Clinton in the delegate race, I'll be really pissed. If Clinton wins the nomination because Edwards and Obama continue to split the anti-establishment vote, how does this further the cause of change? I really hope he changes his mind if it comes to that.

13. It's anything but selfish.
In Edwards' view, Obama won't do enough to fight for change. A lot of us agree with him.

Whether Edwards is sincere, I couldn't say. There are arguments on both sides of that issue. But if he is, then how could he be called "selfish" for wanting to stay in the race and fight for the people?

20. All right, maybe selfish wasn't the best word.
How about stupid? JRE has made it very clear that he would rather see Obama get the nomination than Clinton. Why would he facilitate a Clinton win, if it became obvious that staying in would cause that?

For some interesting commentary on the dynamics of the delegate count, read this Chris Bowers article: http://www.openleft.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=3106

14. I doubt she will win the nomination
Even if she has the most delegates of any one candidate if that doesn't put her in the majority that's such a shame, she'll have to bargain at the convention and the way things are shaping up I doubt she will get anything close to that. The assignment of delegates, in spite of the media coverage otherwise, is NOT winner take all but proportional to percentage of votes won assuming you break a certain threshold. No matter what, there is nothing that says winning Iowa, New Hampshire, or South Carolina says you are the nominee even though they are important as they are early states, there are candidates in the past who have won with none of the above.

19. That's what I was just wondering.
How does it work with the public funding thing? Does he still get money from the government if he has spent all of his?
