Meanwhile, the chimp is selling arms to Saudi Arabia
and urging them to "mobilize against Iran".

http://www.pbs.org/newshour/bb/middle_east/jan-june08/saudi_01-14.html

The presidential trip to Riyadh came on the same day the Bush administration notified Congress of a $20 billion arms sale to the Saudis. It includes precision-guided bombs.

Arms deals with the Saudis and other gulf states are meant to bolster defenses against Iran, Saudi Arabia's Shiite neighbor to the north.

Mr. Bush urged the Gulf states to mobilize against Iran yesterday on a stop in the United Arab Emirates.

GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States: Iran's actions threaten the security of nations everywhere, so the United States is strengthening our longstanding security commitments with our friends in the gulf and rallying friends around the world to confront this danger before it is too late.

He just won't quit beating those war drums! Fortunately, the Saudis aren't listening. They don't trust the U.S. to back them up, and they are smart not to.

3. It's called working on retirement.
So this tour is all about making more money for industrial military complex. It's a business tour no more no less. One might even suggest Bush is simply working on his business retirement nest egg as no doubt he will be heading into the board of these companies upon retirement.

7. Saudi Arabia actually has a better record than Israel
in terms of aggressive preemptive military conflict.

Also arms sales to SA help address the balance of payments issue which is currently driving up energy costs, while sales to Israel amount to what is an essentially a giant kickback scheme.
