Hell HAS frozen over
Yes, hell has officially frozen over. My brother-in-law who as little as a year ago was supporting bush has decided he is voting for................wait for it............

HILLARY CLINTON. His wife, my sister, has decided to do the same.

I need a drink.

but I'm not going to discourage them. They believe the country is in such bad shape that we need a president with lots of experience and they think that's HIllary. They now remember Bill Clinton's presidency with fondness because of how much better off the country was.

35. I'm Still Warm And Fuzzy, I Swear!
But I'm starting to feel a little more comfortable being snarky again.

I respect all our Dem candidates and though she ain't perfect, and though I know some hate her, I still know based on actual facts and voting history that the last thing Hillary is would be a republican. I'm tired of seeing the wild slander being thrown around at our Dem candidates, whether it be towards Obama, Edwards or Hillary. It's just gotten out of hand.

But I'm doin ok. I know I'm being a bit snarky and blunt again, but I'm trying to limit it to only where I feel it necessary. I'm hoping I don't take it too far, and am trying to have some self control. But I'm sure at times I'll piss some off, but just know I am at the core warm and fuzzy, and will still do anything for any of ya. I just simply need to start forcing myself to do 'normal' things again, since I was starting to become too consumed by reality. I thought getting back into a somewhat swing of things here would do a lot towards distracting myself as well as making me feel even remotely 'normal' again.

38. Try GDP if you want to really get into snarkiness.
There is all sorts of stuff going on in there. Sometimes we don't need to be though, am finding am closing vs posting often. It just isn't worth it. I don't need to be focusing on negativities, there is enough of it already. "normal" has changed. And peace.

39. If Only You Knew How Many Threads I 'Close' Vs Post. I Totally Hear Ya.
But there's a part of me that gets quite irked to see a feel good thread like this, only to have someone chime in with the unnecessary ignorance that Hillary is a republican. It's just so friggin lame and old already.

But believe me, there are about 100 comments per day that I would've NORMALLY posted, that I'm simply controlling myself from doing any more. Sometimes I still find the need here and there, but overall I've all sorts of lost the desire to cause as much trouble as I once did. But I still gotta dabble a little, ya know? :)

42. Ah, that issue.
It all depends on what decade you define Republican and Democrat from. Looking back to when I was a child (older than you), I'd say she would fit in with the republicans of old. However, the whole kid and kaboodle has skewed rightward, so now I'd call her centrist dem, or actually more rightish dem. So, if one were to resist change of party makeup, there you go. I see both the dem and repub parties changing in the next bit again. Perhaps splitting off the fundamentalist extreme right into their faux-compassion-conserative-christian-fundamentalistismness (faux since I consider them none of those descriptions beyond words are cheap), and the left off into the Green party type or some such (note to other reading this, not bashing Green party, just saying like or some such to be further left than dems are now).

There are plenty of unfine folks causing enough trouble, I'm looking forward to after the election fall out to be able to do so again also. Off to watch bad movies. I am liking DU for the news, but am tired of wading through all the bullshit. Sort of like Teri Schiavo OMGness days but on and on and on and on and on.

54. No. If I were calling you a Republican would have simple said it. What I did say was that YOU
don't get to choose who represents Democrats. Democrats do. You know, plural, with an S at the end.

You don't get to choose. No ONE person does, and no little bunch of fans does. It's a decision made by Democrats across the country.

So it doesn't much matter if YOU think our candidate is a Republican - what matters is what WE think.

And if she doesn't want to be thought of as a Republican, maybe she shouldn't act like one?

And which Democrats are choosing, incidentally? Two small, decidedly UN-liberal states?? Chuck Todd?? The DLC?? Where do the Democrats come in?
