1. Good! He and JE can tag team Hillary & Obama (the "only" candidates)
At least, according to the media...

40. Kucinich has excellent reason to be pissed at Edwards

I do wish he'd been honest about his motives, though.

13. Do you have any idea of what's going on there?
I was stunned that DK gave his Iowa delegate(s?) to Obama.

16. It has something to do with Edwards taking PAC money
Or letting 527's advertise for him. It's something like that.

22. Edwards has never taken PAC money, Obama has.
Edwards has no say over 527's and neither does Obama who has some advertising for him too.

26. Wrong and wrong
Obama doesn't have 527's running ads for him. Edwards had some group running ads in Iowa. That's why Kucinich is pissed.

29. No one "has 527's" running ads for them. 527's are running positive Obama ads.
Edited on Tue Jan-15-08 06:05 PM by jsamuel
That is a fact. There were some doing the same for Edwards. People just don't like to bring up Obama's Vote Hope 527. He also has a Vote Hope PAC as well.

38. For the love of!!!
Edited on Tue Jan-15-08 06:24 PM by kenfrequed
How many times do I have to say this?!!!!

It is strategy!

DK knows that if he sends delegates over to Edwards it is the equivalent of admitting defeat and borging up with the next most progressive candidate. His delegates then go away and don't accomplish anything.

If he sends them to obama he could have (had the media given him any attention at all) taken partial credit for obama's beating out Hillary. In other words, he stays a factor and might have even gotten some talk time on the political pundit BS shows.

It also would have knocked Hillary off her throne a bit and made her look beatable. That alone would have caused her to start to bleed support.

It had nothing to do at all with 527's. Nothing.

Edit--I am an idiot I accidentally typed in 427

34. Well, here's his official explanation.
I received this in an e-mail:

Dear Supporter,

For the record:

1. New Hampshire is the first state where we are aggressively campaigning. Due to the Party lockout in Iowa, we chose to focus on New Hampshire.
2. I am the only person running for President who voted against the war, against funding the war 100% of the time, against the Patriot Act, and who stands for a universal single-payer not-for-profit healthcare system. Nevertheless I was excluded from Saturday night's ABC Presidential debate, or four tone monologue as it was.
3. In answer to your questions about why I didn't support former Senator John Edwards on the second ballot in Iowa: I have serious concerns about his connections to a Wall Street hedge fund, Fortress Investment Group. While attacking others for accepting campaign money from Washington lobbyists, he is up to his ears in money from Wall Street special interests.

He made half a million dollars in a single year for attending a few meetings for Fortress and has invested a substantial part of his own personal wealth in the hedge fund whose portfolios are responsible for sub-prime predatory lending practices, Medicare privatization, and an entire range of corporate sharp dealings that are driving the middle class into poverty.

While I indicated Senator Obama as a preferred second choice in Iowa, Progressives have fundamental disagreements with him and all of the other Presidential candidates on most of their major positions on the issues.

We must have the courage of our convictions to fully support and vote for what it is we really want. For once, we must realize our power, stop playing tactical games, and vote as a bloc - which, as you know, is what the religious right does and why they often win.

We Progressives are in the majority in this election. We will win only when we refuse to compromise and vote with integrity.

Dennis Kucinich

He wants to talk about issues.

the supreme court HAS NOT ruled yet. remember msnbc was appealing??? elizabeth kucinich just talked to someone at randi rhodes' show about 20 minutes ago and said the court was telling her that it could be another for them to rule. IT HAS NOT BEEN DECIDED YET.
