Stocks Fluctuate in Early Trading
Wall Street sought to extend its gains Thursday, a day after stocks staged an extraordinary reversal and after weekly figures on workers seeking unemployment benefits suggested the job market is holding up.

DJIA is up over 60 point so far this morning. Will it hold up??

2. Unemployment figures don't mean anything in the real world.
If you don't file you're not counted. If you don't file because you're not eligible to collect, you're not counted. If you've already used up your benefits and haven't worked long enough to requalify, you're not counted.

3. Absolutely.
You know I was thinking, (actually a dangerous thing), and I wondered what would happen if the real numbers came out. All the real numbers. I realize Pelosi agreeing to not extend unemployment benefits, fits well into letting more ppl drop off the unemployment radar and keep the false numbers going. These lies perpetuate a more positive view of those less informed, therefore continuing a false sense of security, keeping confidence higher, in turn helping the emotional trading keep it's head. Does this in anyway pad the fall, even though the fall is going to occur or will it make a bigger splat once it hits the floor?

I've believed when it comes to life, the light should be shone on the truth, and we should hit the bottom in order to build up again/heal sooner. Is it different with this?
