John Gibson's non-apology: "To anyone offended by my comments, I'm sorry."
Speaking of his comments ridiculing Heath Ledger, of course. And he also said:

"I'm sorry that some gay groups and others took my comments as anti-gay and insensitive."

In other words, he's sorry that some of us ignoramuses took his comments as insensitive, not that the comments were wrong in and of themselves.

I hate these crappy, insincere "apologies." He also said he's sorry Heath Ledger is dead. Yeah, he's sorry he got into trouble, and that's it.

What a turd. You can check it out at Faux here: http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,325371,00.html

4. You think Fox news would fire him for this?
He might just get a promotion and have O'reilly's timeslot soon.

3. It's The Gay Communities Fault, They Misunderstood
and took his highly offensive, tacky remarks as anti-gay & insensitive. Considering Heath Ledger isn't gay, why would he say anything in the first place? What a pig!

6. And to those who loved the comments
keep watching! There will be more offensive remarks you all can crow over.

He's playing to his base. Neanderthal, low lifes who think what he says is actually interesting.

not that it will make any real difference but they'll at least be inconvenienced.
Since I refuse to waste one nanosecond on Fox I don't know who their advertisers are, but they need to be pressured to leave them.

12. The only way he will get fired is if advertisers start pulling out of his show.
Otherwise he has Fixed News too firmly behind him. Money talks, outrage walks.

9. "I'm sorry that you were so hypersensitive and became offended"
That's essentially what these non-apology apologies mean. Notice how carefully worded they are to avoid actually saying that what they said was wrong.

10. Oh, Keith Olbermann will take him to task for this one.
He's already made Worst Person in the World, now Keith's going to nab him for his non-apology apology. He HATES "I'm sorry to any stick-up-the-ass person I offended" apologies.

11. He's still an asshat...
And that was one weak attempt at an apology. Can't we ship him off to some deserted island where he can spew his hate as loudly as he wants, and nobody has to hear it anymore?

13. From a conservative: Screw John Gibson
And screw Fox News.

SO tired of people making stupid, nasty comments and then issuing non-apologies. "To anyone who was offended" means,
"I don't think you should have been offended, but I will toss you a bone."

That was not an apology. Fox is worse off for airing anything other than an unconditional, unreserved apology. I don't think Gibson is capable of being sincere, anyway. He has to compete with other neanderthals for shock value. Heath Ledger was a good person and a good actor.

And to knuckledragging a-holes who think making a movie about being gay opens you up to ridicule, grow the hell up.

And yes, I am a conservative.

16. Automatically Not An Apology
If people weren't offended, you wouldn't be saying a thing. Therefore, the comment was offensive.

Anytime someone leads off with "if anyone was offended" then they don't mean it. They're already refusing to acknowledge that the comment was genuinely offensive.

18. Typical. Asshat. Hate him.
Typical response.

"Sorry that YOU'RE OFFENDED."

"Sorry that YOU TOOK OFFENSE."

"Sorry that YOU TOOK IT THE WRONG WAY."

Non apologies--all of them.

Typical asshat, bully responses. I'm not one bit surprised.

It's sooooo hard not to hate these freaks.
