My conclusion on Impeachment
Democrats don't have impeachment on table - and I finally agree with them.

Yes, there are all the lies, pissing on the Constitution, jailing, torturing, maiming and killing of innocents.

Yes, he should rot in a Federal prison.

But he wouldn't.

Impeach him (and Cheney) during his time in office - and he/they will be pardoned. Democrats don't have enough time to sort out this mess before the election.

Let him sit there, let his world, and our country fall apart around him. Make him own this mess. Stew in it. Wear it around his neck. Saddle the neocons with it for DECADES - until we are the old fogeys never, ever NOT voting - because our entire electorate LEARNED THE HARD WAY how important it is to show up at the polls.

How the Republicans ruined our economy, bankrupted this nation, smeared our name in the world.

The are the legacies of 12 years of Republican leadership.

People are now mumbling that they are still registered republican.

Record turnout. For a long time after.

Anyway, that's why I hope they did it.

1. "Let him sit there, let his world, and our country fall apart around him."
That's the part I have a problem with, and I suspect that is the Dems line of thinking on this.

The reason I find it so insulting coming from them, is that they don't have to live world we live in, which they'll allow to crumble as part of their '08 election strategy. I'm near New Orleans--we can't afford to let N.O. crumble any more than it has. Nor should any other region of the country have to suffer the Gulf Coast's plight. If we don't impeach, we run that risk.

3. I agree - it sucks. And I have had a very hard time with it.
but it was going to happen. And I think it was a warped rationanality - someone has to take the blame - we can let things get worse and it gets stuck with an R on it, or we can staunch the bleeding, temporarily, help a few people, have it hung on a D, and get more of the same for years to come.

Icky. But that is how I see it.

2. If they're never held to account, they can deny all of it. And they will.

5. Then they'll buy the history books. Then they'll tell our kids and grandkids it was all the Dems'
fault. We'll be fighting their rationale for '00-'08 throughout our entire lives, bank on it.

4. they gave him a standing ovation....
the house and senate did! A standing O for christsakes.... if they represent the USA then ...i personally believe the real USA is not represented by the tapeworms who could applaud an obvious traitor like junyer bush, but then again, the lack of reaction evident to our sight and sound says they indeed do represent the people, if only by default. And that means...(?) it certainly frees anyone who considers the world as a personal 'duty' in terms of devotion to making it better or at least fighting anything that threatens it, which to bush thoroughly applies- thus, to quote MLK, we're free at last!

6. IMPEACH THEM.
BRING THEM BEFORE A COURT OF LAW (disallowing the ones they've written for themselves). When you can't accomplish THAT with the slimiest misanthropic CRIMINAL PSYCOPATHS the world has ever seen and the reams of evidence against them, you will have richly earned whatever comes your way. It ain't looking pretty.

7. Nonsense.

(1) There is no pardon for impeachment convictions.
(2) Failure to impeach for the high crimes and misdemeanors of THIS regime guarantees future abuses even worse.
(3) Anyone who cannot comprehend that 'DUTY' goes beyond mere black-letter requirements doesn't belong in any office of public trust - not even sweeping streets or cleaning sewers.

Cowards and criminals are the always first to call themselves 'realists' or 'pragmatists.'
